Hey!
MUFE HD Blushes have been raved about on the blogosphere due to their intense pigmentation that make your blush last all day. All HD Blushes are technically liquid blushes with some power packed pigments. While the MUFE Blushes are incredibly enticing, they are also incredibly pricey. So I set out to find a more affordable alternative.
The product I am now going to review has been compared to MUFE Blushes and has reated a huge buzz in the blogosphere too. Read on to find out if I found my HG HD Blush. 😛

Packaging: This blush comes in a transparent bottle with a pump dispenser. This pump dispenser helps in easy and hygienic dispension of the product. It is very sturdy and hence exceptionally travel friendly. It sits pretty at a mere 3-4 inches tall, but don’t be perturbed by its mini size. It is insanely pigmented and gives the best bang for the buck out of all the e.l.f. products I have ever used.
My take on e.l.f. HD Blush in Encore:
I love it! There’s no two ways to it. You get an e.l.f. HD Blush at a fraction of the MUFE HD Blushes (priced at $26) and it’s so darn gorgeous to boot!
Anyway, gushing set aside, this product is incredible. It’s pump dispenser makes application hygienic and a pin head sized amount is enough for both your cheeks. It is so pigmented that one can’t help but be awestruck. Trust me, a little goes a very long way and it would be best to take a very very tiny amount, swirl a stipple brush through it and THEN apply it. This brush needs to be used with a stipple brush, or else you are sure to look like a clown. It’s that pigmented!
Due to its intense pigmentation, blending is the name of the game. Blend carefully and you can mimic a beautiful airbrushed flush or else you can end up with two racing stripes on either cheek.
This product has a choice of 5 colours and no matter how deep or light toned you may be, you are sure to find a colour that you love.
The shade that I am reviewing, Encore, is a warm pink that looks garish and OOT in the unblended swatch but can look beautifully natural on light/medium skin and can be used with a stronger hand for deeper skinned beauties.  This blush is my second HD Blush and I am incredibly impressed. The colour is pigmented and contains a miniscule quantity of microshimmer that just brightens up the complexion. It doesn’t show up in that well in the swatches, due to its low quantity. There’s practically none of it there, so it’s akin to a matte blush.
The only major con in this product, other than the lack of an applicator is the fact that it stains. And boy! It stains badly! You need to be careful where you decide to swirl this blush for application. I used to use the back of my hand but due to the staining issue I now use a normal painter’s palette for the same.
But despite these two major cons I love these blushes and will certainly repurchase them! Infact, I already have. 😉

- Intensely pigmented
- Dupes of iconic MUFE HD Blushes
- Inexpensive

What I don’t like about e.l.f. HD Blush in Encore:
- Blending is a little hard
- May be a little too pigmented
- Can look OOT if not applied properly
- Needs a stipple brush for natural application
- Stains
- Contains parabens
- Unavailability in India
Will I repurchase? I don’t think so. This is going to go on for eons!

Its such a cute warm pink…and looks like the quality is great too
Yup! The quality is pretty amazing and so is the colour. But funnily enough, the intense pigmentation is what’s bad about this product. :p
Amazingly pigmented 🙂

I dont have a single elf goodie n u have the entire store..:'(
Very beautiful..i guess a buffer brush will help in controlling the pigmentation.
I use a stippling brush but I am sure a buffing brush like a Kabuki will work brilliantly too. 🙂
