Hey all beauty geeks!!! I am back with another review on blushes. After falling in love with ELF blush palette in light and taking it along everywhere as my new toy, I had actually forgotten about the blush palette in dark. It was only when I was reorganizing my makeup yesterday that I stumbled upon it. And then and there started using it 🙂 And about reorganizing the makeup – Lets just say there is always another day 😉

My take on ELF Studio Blush Palette in Dark:
ELF Studio Blush Palette is available in two shades – Light and Dark. I have already reviewed the light palette. The blush palette in Dark has earthy tones and more suitable for beauties with darker skin tones. The palette has the following four colors:
- Pale pink – which is the lightest shade of the palette
- Hot pink – darker shade of pink
- Dark coral with shimmers – Shimmery color of the palette
- Berry color with dark mauvy tones
I love both the pinks in the palette. The dark coral gives a pearlescent look to the cheeks, though the shimmers are not visible. The fourth color will look super beautiful on someone with darker skintone. It looks little patchy and dark on me.
Texture: These blushes are creamy and provide for smooth application. However, I feel that the colors in light palette were more buttery to feel.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is as good as the light palette. Infact, since these are darker shades, you need to be really careful with the amount if you have fair skin tone.
Staying Power: Comfortably stayed for 5-6 hours.
Packaging: The blushes come in a black square box with a huge mirror. The blushes are generously sized. As stated for the light palette, the pans can be popped out for a custom-built palette. However, I found it hard to pop them out and feared that it might break the blushes.
What I love about ELF Studio Blush Palette in Dark:
- Excellent colors for darker skin tones as normally blushes don’t show on them.
- Impressive pigmentation.
- Creamy and smooth.
- Can be easily blended.
- Long staying power.
- Travel friendly.
- Sleek packaging.
- Huge mirror in the packaging.
- Not tested on animals.
What I do not love about ELF Studio Blush Palette in Dark:
- Some colors are chalky/ powdery to feel.
- Would have loved to see a dark contour color in this.
- Lighter skin tones will have to be careful about the amount to be used.
- Swirling the brush causes a messy pan.
- Unavailability in India.
I like the blush palette in Dark, but not as much as the one in Light. If you are fair skinned and do not crave for darker blushes, you can live without this. But for girls with darker skin tones, grab them before they get over!!! Recommended!!!
