ELF Studio HD Blush in Headliner
Hey all beauty geeks!!! Finally, I can say that winters are gone and spring is ‘almost’ here. At times, my post seems more of a weather report than a makeup post. 😉 But then, thats the effect of weather on us. Spring season makes me dream of bright lipsticks and rosy cheeks. There is something about the natural color of cheeks that makes the entire face come together. I do love colored cheeks, but I am a sucker for natural flush on cheeks. 🙂
ELF HD blush in Headliner is one such HG product for me.
About ELF Studio HD Blush:
ELF Studio HD blushes are supposed to be inspired from Make Up For Ever HD blushes. The website describes the blush as:
‘Rich and creamy HD Blush naturally sculpts and highlights the cheekbones for a soft-focus effect that is great for everyday use. The Vitamin E enriched formula conditions and hydrates the skin for a healthy, radiant glow. Velvety soft, lightweight and highly pigmented color creates a long-lasting result for all day wear.’

My take on ELF Studio HD Blush in Headliner:
ELF Studio HD Blush comes in five beautiful shades. I already owned Superstar and Diva. However, I wanted a soft and wearable cream blush that I can use almost everyday. Thats where Headliner stepped in. 🙂 Headliner is a soft baby pink with a slight mauve undertone when blended. The blush imparts a glowing natural color to the cheeks without going over the top. However, you need to own a stippling brush to apply this or use your fingers. Powder blush brush won’t work with this.
In addition to wearing it alone, I also wear it as a base to other powder blushes. This increases the color payoff and longevity of the blushes I wear on top. And did I tell you these cream blushes make excellent lip colors. Infact, I am thinking of picking up remaining two shades just as lip colors. 🙂
Texture: Not all HD blushes have the same consistency. Headliner has a creamy consistency, not very thick or thin. It is easily blendable and looks like your skin.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is the star here. You just need a tiny pea-sized amount for a beautiful color. You can increase the intensity depending on the look you are going for.
Staying Power: Stayed and looked fresh for 7-8 hours. Do set with a translucent powder though.
Packaging: The HD blush come in a transparent plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. It has a black lid to cover when not in use. The bottom has the name of the blush indicated. I like that the packaging is not bulky and easy to store and travel with.
Comparison with ELF HD blushes in Superstar and Diva
ELF HD blush in Headliner is the lighter and more wearable blush of all the shades available. I have swatched it here with ELF HD blushes in Superstar and Diva to show the color gradient.
What I love about ELF Studio HD Blush in Headliner:
- Natural soft color.
- Highlights the cheeks with radiant glow.
- Insanely pigmented.
- Will last a long time.
- Blendable texture, though with the right technique.
- Stays for long.
- Multitasking product – base for powder blushes and lip color.
- Will suit almost everybody.
- Affordable.
- Travel friendly packaging.
- Excellent for people with dry skin.
- Not tested on animals.
What I do not love about ELF Studio HD Blush in Headliner:
- May dry out in the bottle after some time.
- May stain if not properly set.
- Pump dispenses too much amount at a time.
- Every color does not have the same consistency.
- Be stingy with the amount you apply to avoid too much color on cheeks.
- Beginners should avoid as it is little tricky to blend it.
- Oily skinned people may not like the dewy finish.
- Unavailability in India.
Final Impression: This is my third ELF HD blush and the most used one. Do I need to say more??? If you love your blushes and looking for something that brings glow to your face without looking over the top, look no further girls!!! Heartily recommended!!!
