FabIndia Mint Rosemary Body Wash Review
There are certain fragrances that make one feel warm and cozy in this chilly weather. Like the smell of brewing coffee, vanilla or anything that has woody or spice notes. I came across one such combination while I was browsing the Fabindia beauty aisle. Mint and rosemary said the bottle and I was so intrigued by this unusual combination that I just had to give it a try. One sniff and I was sold. For an obsessive foodie like me, it is almost impossible to resist anything that smells even remotely edible. Since my previous experience with FI body wash had been positive, I did not have any reason to hesitate, plus this yummy smelling wonder came with zero calories!
About FabIndia Mint Rosemary Body Wash:-
Made with a blend of rosemary oil and peppermint oil, this shower gel cleanses the skin leaving you revitalized.
- Ingredients:Purified Water, Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate, Cocoamidopropylbetaine, Sodium Chloride, Glycerine, PEG 7 GlycerylCocoate, Sodium Lactate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Rosemary Oil, Citric Acid, Peppermint Oil.
- Price:Rs. 225 for 275 ml.You can buy it online.
Packaging: It comes in a white bottle with a flip top which has no absolutely no way of being securely locked. I had a nightmarish experience while carrying this in my luggage, the top opened and everything spilled out, but thankfully I had kept it in an air tight pouch so the only thing that got ruined was my pretty pouch. Let me repeat, this does not travel well.
Color, Texture and Fragrance: It looks slightly green in the bottle but is mostly transparent when being used. Runny gel in texture, it is easy to pour out and lathers decently. It does not dry my skin but neither does it moisturize, so no gain no loss. It smells like it is supposed to, of mint and rosemary and this is where this product wins big time. The fragrance is relaxing, enveloping and warm. It feels like you are in the middle of a luxurious spa treatment and all your senses get de-stressed. After a shower, the scent lingers on for an hour or two not only on my skin but also in the bathroom. I just want to pour it in a martini glass, add crushed ice and sip it all the while dreaming of vacationing in sunny Bahamas. Slurp slurpslurp! But seriously guys, this is wonderful for those long baths with lighted candles and soft music playing.
Verdict: Cleans well, smells great and gives a very relaxing experience. Its like a super affordable spa treatment that calms your mind without being heavy on the pocket. Unfortunately, this contains SLES so it loses a part of its charm. If I had to buy a body wash full of chemicals, I wouldn’t head to FI now, would I? I somehow feel like FI’s USP is making natural products, so at least they should have come up with some substitute for SLES. Also, my experience with its packaging has now made me vary of any FI product that comes in this kind of bottle.
What I like about FabIndia Mint Rosemary Body Wash:
- Fragrance is unique and relaxing
- Lathers decently
- Does not dry out
- Decently priced
What I don’t like about FabIndia Mint Rosemary Body Wash:
- The packaging is a headache. Who puts a runny liquid in a bottle with a cap that does not lock!
- Contains SLES which defeats the entire purpose of buying FI
- Availability might be an issue
- Some might say it smells of dishwashing liquid soap
