Festival trends in 2015

The festival mood has set in for the year and everyone is gearing up for upcoming annual occasions that we wait for the entire year. Stating from Karvachauth to Diwali to the Christmas and New Year, we are all excited for it certainly. It is pretty important to understand the fashion trends before you jump or decide on any outfit or look for any particular occasion.

Attire or Clothes:

If you refer to Vogue or Lakme Fashion Week, it is prominent that the fashion statement is fusion that is partly Western and partly Indian.

The Indo-Western Fusions range from Skirts clubbed with long blouses or crop blouses or may be palazzos teamed with crop blouses and heavy accessories to give you a desi touch with English tadka.

There is still a huge roar expected if you wear a traditional Indian wear like a saree or a suit with stunning gold jewelry – necklaces, bangles, forehead tika and a bindi.

Dresses of vibrant colors like blues and pinks were more prominent compared to usual blacks and whites. The blend of festive mood was clearly visible on the designer ensembles as the vibrancy spread really well across designs and types of dresses exhibited. Believe me the designs are way too tempting!

Jewelry:

If you come to think of Indians sans Jewelry, it is a huge mistake. Wearing no jewelry at all was also witnessed for some designers and celebrities present at the duo but that was totally because of the high collared blouses or tops being used which did not bare the neck for a necklace.

Shoes:

This category seemed to be passing on the message that the juggling of western shoes like gumboots and stilettoes are exchanging vows of being with Western and traditional attire respectively. Look at the images here to see the teaming of Western wear with perfect stilettoes and Long boots are being teamed so conveniently with Indo-Western outfits.

Bags:

Traditional wear looks best with Potli’s and small clutch bags as was the case in the Fashion week. Most of the bags were so stylish that they fitted in the Indo-Western class well. The smart length bags represented the modern day usage of small sized yet enough to carry stuff bags and were a total hit with the audience.

I hope the designs and fashion trends gave you enough idea to dress up for each and every festive occasion coming your way. Happy Festivities to you!

  1. I feel pastels are a huge trend this season.. ‘coz when I was at LFW and the current AIFW, I witnessed a lot of designers featuring a lot of pastels for the festive season.
