Making of the Product:

This unique old Ayurvedic formulation uses a variety of fruits including Dates,, Peaches & Apricots. These are left whole with wild Turmeric roots & Neem leaves & buried just below the surface of the ground in earthenware pots & covered with leaves that are changed from time to time. In about a monthh’s time this fruit pulp ferments along with the roots and leaves, and becomes a rich mass of live organic matter with natural glycolic acid (Fruit Acid). This is then taken out, hand pounded & mixed with organic Honey, Apricot Kernel oil & finally with Sweet Almond oil to produce a rich cleansing and nutritive food for the skin.

How to use: Use a small amount on damp skin and rub gently to cleanse. Rinse well.

Price: Rs. 1675 for 50 grams.

I received the sample in a tiny jar and yes it is really very tiny without any mention of the quantity; however the sample packaging was safe and cute. Similar to the sample jar, the company retails the scrub in a jar which also has a secure lid and a golden colored cap that screw opens.

It is gooey and sticky in texture and reminds a lot of the traditional chyawanpransh. Since it is an organic scrub it comprises of varied granules from fine to harsh.

My Experience:

Forest Essentials Hand pounded Organic Fruit Facial Scrub texture

To start with, I love the fresh roses aroma that this scrub has. The fruit scent is also there but roses overpower it.

It is very gooey in texture and can be worked with only on a wet face and after diluting it with a little water. Using it straight away without water is a little difficult and messy and calls for extra products usage. I must say that this scrub fares a decent job in scrubbing. It makes your skin feel very clean and polished. But do not expect it to take care of deeper black heads, as there it will fail. This is quite an expensive product and honestly if it was not that expensive I would have purchased it, but the hefty price tag is something that gives me question about getting this product in full size.

If an all natural scrub is your thing and price tag does not matter, then you may wish to try this out, but be sure that it does not give dramatic results with just one usage.
