Yes new classmates this one is pointed towards you! 😛
But what else can we do except being envious and cribbing about our short hair that is? It is simple, either we can sit behind, crib and let our hair be the way they are or we can turn to the miraculous world of Ayurveda! Confused? Let me guide your path to ayurveda and its wonderful hair growth tips.
Ayurveda swears by this one simple plant, and so do we! For hair growth by the virtue of deep conditioning your scalp, you can use it in your hair pack. Apply the gel to your damp hair evenly and wrap it with a hot towel and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes. Let your hair absorb it and then wash it well using mild shampoo. You can use it in many other ways by adding different ingredients to it. Try using hibiscus paste, fenugreek paste, curry leaves powder, etc. to the same to promote hair growth.
If you want to cure dandruff then try adding lemon juice, neem oil or neem leaves paste to the same instead. You always tend to use many hair packs. Just add this gel to it in order to get its benefits. You can even opt for deep overnight treatment for damaged hair. Take ½ cup of aloe vera gel, two spoons of castor oil, two spoons of fenugreek powder and one spoon of basil powder. Mix the ingredients well and apply all over scalp and hair. Cover with a shower cap and sleep with it. Next morning wash with a mild shampoo. Aloe vera is sure to clear out most of your short-hair woes!
Also known as Amla, Indian gooseberries are rich in powerful antioxidants and Vitamin C which helps in reducing the hair breakage and also helps in keeping our hair lustrous and shiny. Amla acts as a natural conditioner and also helps in preventing greying of hair.
In a bowl add 1 cup/glass of water and 3 tsp. of Dried Amla /Indian Goose berry powder. Boil this mixture till the water becomes half the quantity/Half cup. Then allow the liquid to cool and then strain it. Now taking one onion, grind it and extract the juice into a bowl. Add this onion juice to the Amla mixture. And here you have your very own potent, ayurvedic hair treatment for hair growth.
Bhringraj, also known as the king of herbs is known so for some good, pretty good reasons! It has the potency to stimulate your scalp and enhance hair growth like none other herb. But the problem comes in locating these herbs these days. If you can find fresh bhringraj herbs in its purest form nothing like it. But for those who cannot seem to lay hands upon fresh herbs, you can always opt for dried bhringraj which is sold in market packaging these days.
Simmer two three tablespoons of the dried herb powder into water, warm it up a bit and create a paste. Apply to damp hair and leave it on for 30 minutes. Wash it off with a mild shampoo and condition as usual. Regular application of bhringraj is sure to make all the difference!
Fenugreek is a real savior, I must say! You can make a hair mask to condition your hair with fenugreek seeds. For this take a half cup of dried fenugreek seeds in a bowl and add 2 cups of water in it. Soak them overnight and strain the water .You can drink this water as it helps in reducing hair fall.
In the morning strain the water and put the seeds in a blender. Add little water as the seeds are already soaked and make a thick paste of it. Apply this paste on your hair and wrap your hair .This mask is little messy but is worth the effort. Leave it for 30 minutes and rinse it as usual. You don’t need a conditioner after washing your hair with it.
Hot Oil Massages
Anyone who has been for a hair spa knows the benefit of hot oil hair treatment. Albeit in India we all have been always advised to oil our hair by almost everyone who gives advice on hair care but we have taken the advice lightly. Hot oil hair treatment is an inexpensive luxury with enumerable benefits. Nowadays oil treatments are available in markets as well. All you have to do is heat oil either in microwave or on stove.
Oil main purpose is to condition our hair. With increasing pollution, humidity , temperature variation effecting our hair we have made it worse by using steamers, dryers, curlers, strengtheners etc. Use of these hot oil treatments result in curing split ends and hair fall too. Resulting in immaculate hair growth with visible results!
