Lemon: Lemon is one of the best natural ingredients that gives a clear skin. It is rich in vitamin C & possesses anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. In addition, it also acts as an exfoliating agent & natural bleach too. Simply applying fresh-squeezed lemon juice on your face and neck & then rinsing off after 10 minutes helps clear out the complexion.
Alternatively, you can also mix some honey with lemon juice & apply this as a face mask. Another way to incorporate lemon in your beauty routine is to create a natural scrub by mixing it with granulated sugar. You can use this to gently exfoliate the skin which would help remove dead skin cells & add a healthy glow!
Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera possesses antibacterial & anti-inflammatory properties & helps soothe the skin. It also moisturizes the skin and stimulates new skin cell growth. Simply extract some fresh aloe gel & apply on your face. Rinse off with lukewarm water once it dries naturally. Aloe Vera works well on acne & it also helps in improving the skin texture.
Turmeric: Turmeric or Haldi has been used for skincare since ages! It is an antiseptic & helps minimize scars and blemishes. It also helps in lightening the skin tone & even reduces skin infection. Prepare a paste by mixing turmeric and pineapple juice. Apply this as a face pack to clear out spots on the skin. You may also make a paste by mixing equal amounts of turmeric powder and gram flour with a little water or milk to make the skin clear. And of course, a Haldi-Chandan (turmeric & sandalwood) face pack is always there to give you a radiant complexion!
Mint: Mint is another excellent ingredient which keeps the skin healthy & glowing. It contains menthol, which possesses soothing & healing properties & keeps infections at bay. Mint face packs are very common & they help clear the complexion. Take some freshly grated mint leaves & make a paste. Apply this on your face which will add glow to your skin & rejuvenate as well. You may also mix one teaspoon of mint powder with one tablespoon each of plain yogurt and fuller’s earth in a bowl. Once all ingredients get soaked properly, stir to form a smooth paste. Apply this on your face and neck to enjoy a clear complexion.
Honey: Honey is a natural moisturizer which also possesses antibacterial properties that help fight infection. Raw honey can be directly applied onto the skin to make it smooth & supple. Alternatively, you can also mix some milk with honey & use this as a face pack. In addition, a honey & oatmeal mask works wonderfully to clean your skin. It also helps in gentle exfoliation, thereby making way for a soft & nourished glow.
Papaya: Papaya is loaded with the enzyme papain which improves the texture of the skin & helps reduce spots & blemishes. It also possesses antibacterial properties. You can start off by applying fresh papaya juice directly on your skin while massaging gently. Then rinse off after 10 minutes with cold water. Alternatively, you can also cut a ripe papaya into small pieces & mix it with sandalwood powder and honey.
Then make a paste & apply it on your face and neck. Leave it on for half an hour & then rinse off using cool water. Following this regularly will help improve the skin texture & keep it smooth as well.
Walnut: Walnuts contain antioxidants that make the skin healthy & radiant. Walnut in powder form can be used to exfoliate the skin and remove dirt & impurities. You can also walnut powder with yogurt to prepare a face-mask. However, remember to scrub the face gently after the mask is dry & then rinse off with lukewarm water.
