How To Deal With Back Acne

How To Deal With Back Acne

Hey there ladies! Your face is not the only place where acne can appear. It can also affect other parts of your body that have oil-secreting glands such as your back, chest, and shoulders. The skin on your back has larger pores than your face which makes it more prone to get clogged. Back Acne, or sometimes referred to as Bacne, can appear in the form of blackheads, whiteheads, papules, nodules or cysts. The sebaceous glands that secrete sebum, along with dead skin cells and bacteria, can build up in the hair follicles on your back and clog them. This eventually turns into acne. Today, we take a look at some ways to deal with back acne. Keep reading!

What Causes Bacne?

  • Hormonal Fluctuations
  • Genetics
  • Certain skincare & makeup products that clog your pores
  • Clothes that irritate your body
  • Unhealthy Lifestyle

Prevention Is Better Than Cure!

Use a pH Balancing Body Wash : Always keep your body clean. Use a pH balancing body wash or a salicylic acid/benzoyl peroxide cleanser to remove excess oil from the skin. This will help prevent further growth of bacteria & prevent acne.

Shower Immediately After Exercise: Make sure you take a shower after exercising. The sweat builds up bacteria, which leads to acne breakouts.

The pores on your back are much larger than your face. Invest in a good body scrub to get rid of dead skin cells & impurities. In addition, it helps in skin renewal too.

Maintain Good Hygiene: Always keep your skin clean and dry. Use antibacterial or neem-based soaps. Avoid tight fitted clothes & wear loose, breathable clothing. Avoid wearing heavy backpacks. Keep your bedding clean & sleep on a clean pillow. Keep your hair clean & remember to rinse off the conditioner properly so that it does not clog any pores on your back.

Use Water-Based Moisturizer: Go for water-based moisturizers rather than oil-based ones. Oil based moisturizers clog the pores and causes pimples & acne. In addition, look for non- comedogenic products while picking out skincare & makeup products.

Healthy Living:

A healthy lifestyle is very important to avoid breakouts. Get regular exercise & drink ample water during the day. Take a balanced diet & avoid junk, fatty & fried foods. Also, get 8 hours of sleep every night. These steps help keep away toxins from your body & maintain hormonal balance as well.

Keep Stress Away: Stress has a direct impact on your hormones. Avoid taking stress & meditate & exercise to keep your skin happy & healthy!

Use this water to take a bath to get acne-free skin. Alternatively, you can also try an oatmeal & honey mask to tame back acne. Cook oatmeal in water & add honey. Once this cools down, add a little more honey & apply this mask to your back. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes & then rinse off.
