How To Exfoliate Scalp & Deep Condition Your Hair At Home

Today I’m not here with product reviews rather I’m here with some hair care tips. I am going to tell you about scalp exfoliation. Scalp exfoliation is not very popular but I found out that its quite beneficial. Just like we exfoliate our face, we should exfoliate our scalp as well.

Scalp exfoliation improves blood circulation and removes flakiness from scalp. It refreshes scalp and makes head feel lighter. I have Indianised the procedure but it works very well for me., It not only makes me feel lighter but also improves hair growth.

Scalp Exfoliation

You will need a hair brush for this. You can use a teaser brush or any other brush that you feel can help in a little scrubbing.

Start scrubbing from the centre of the head and come down. Don’t be too harsh on your scalp. Take you time and put little pressure.

You can also use a mixture of olive oil and sugar to exfoliate your scalp. I find this messy but if you are ok with it, you can try this DIY scalp scrub too.

Scalp exfoliation with a brush does not take more than 10 minutes.

Deep Conditioning

It is a very important step for hair care. You can do deep conditioning easily at home.

Take olive oil or coconut oil as per your hair length. Olive oil is lighter so I’m using it but coconut oil is equally good.

I add 1 tsp Iraya Essential Hair Pack to olive oil. You can add amla powder or shikakai powder to oil.

I also add Navarasa Aroma Therapy essential oil. This is basically a hair growth oil so I use it for added benefit. Again you can skip it.

If you do not have any of these things then skip adding anything and just apply oil on scalp.

Completely cover your hair with the mixture and massage as well.

Then take out you hair dryer and put it on the lowest setting. Blow dry your hair for 5 minutes. You can skip blow drying but I think that it helps in better absorption of oil.

After this, wrap your hair with a soft towel. I use a specialized hair wrap to cover my hair.

Wait for 10-15 minutes at least. If you want, you can keep it on for longer.

Finally wash and condition your hair. You may need to wash your hair 1-2 times extra as there is a lot of oil on scalp.

Once you are done, you will feel refreshed and your head will feel lighter as well.

It may seem time taking but it doesn’t take much time. I like to do scalp exfoliation and deep conditioning regularly and find it beneficial.
