How To Make Hair Thick

All of dream of having those lustrous Rapunzel locks. But unfortunately,  one of the most common hair related problem we all deal with is hair-loss or hair thinning. This can be due to any illness that we might have suffered from like malaria or jaundice that affects the liver, or due to dandruff, pollution, wrong diet, over experimenting with hairstyle or hair colours, etc. You can of course go for laser treatments or hair transplants and medicines to make your hair grow thicker, but going natural is obviously cheaper and definitely safer.

So in this post I am going share with you a few natural methods you can apply to make your hair grow thicker.

Castor Oil

castor oil

This is truly a wonder oil and my personal favourite. Castor oil nourishes, thickens and strengthens the hair, fights dandruff, and helps the hair to grow longer and faster. The oil contains Omega6 acid, vitamin E and minerals that are really important for hair growth.

Mix in castor oil with any other oil of your choice like coconut oil in a 1:1 ratio. Heat the mixture and then apply it all over your hair. Massaging it well into the roots of your hair. This will help in the blood circulation and help the hair growth. Leave the oil in overnight and the next day wash it off using a mild shampoo. This oil is really sticky and thick the very reason why it is always recommended that you use it with some other oil. So you might need 2-3 washes to get it off your hair. But make sure you use a mild shampoo, and you can in fact use lukewarm water while shampooing. This will help to get the oil off.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains lauric acid and capric acid, which prevents your hair from microbes. It also contains Vit E and other fatty acids that locks in the moisture into the hair shafts. Thus nourishing the hair and protecting the hair from dandruff and hair-fall. So automatically hair grows thicker and stronger and shinier. Take coconut oil and massage it into your hair an hour before hitting the shower. Do this regularly and you will notice the changes in a matter of a month or so. If possible leave it overnight and heat the oil a bit before applying. Increases the effectiveness of the oil.

Or you can also try the hot towel/turban therapy. Apply the warm oil in your hair. Massage in well. Now take hot water, dip your towel in it, squeeze out the excess water and wrap around your head tightly. Repeat a few time as it cools. This is a very effective therapy to let the oil penetrate even deeper into the shafts and roots of the hair. Do it at least twice a week to get that gorgeous thick mane you have always desired.

Herbal shampoo

For this you will need equal amounts of Reetha, Amla and Shikakai. Keep them soaked overnight and then next day morning boil them in water till the water reduces down to ¼ of the quantity. Cool the mixture and squish it using hands. Strain the liquid and store it in a clean bottle. This may be runnier  than your normal shampoo but is an excellent natural cleanser and the nutrients and vit C present in Amla specially makes the hair grow thicker an longer. But this is not a very good option for those with dry hair.

Hibiscus

Hibiscus

One of the most effective ways to make your hair grow thicker and stronger. All you need for this is a few Hibiscus leaves and petals, and coconut oil. Use mortar and pestle to grinds the petals and leaves and mix into the coconut oil. Now boils this mix for a while. Cool and store in a bottle. This oils is a wonder potion for those looking for ways to make their hair thicker.
Avocado, Olive oil and Honey mask

Avocado is packed with vitamins A,D, E and B6, magnesium, folic acid and amino acids, an excellent ingredient to make your hair grow thicker. Mash up one whole avocado, mix n 2 tbsp of honey and 1 and half tbsp of olive oil. Apply this mask and leave it on for say an hour. And the wash it off.

Try out these hair masks and oils massages to make your hair grow thick and strong. They are easy to make and most of the ingredients used are easily available.
