Pickles are tasty and just can notÂ be avoided by Indians. Generally if you are staying in a hostel or are married outside the country then your mom or mom in law packs loads of pickle for you. To keep them long and preserve them from fungus here is a simple tip for you.
Take a small coal and put it on your gas stove .Burn it for few minutes and sprinkle few grains of asafoetida (hing) on the burning coal. Now take an empty pickle jar and invert the jar on the coal for few minutes. Now add the pickles in it. This remedy will keep the pickle away from the fungus.
