Pigmentation is the mortal enemy of skin. We know that pigmentation is caused by melanin. Melanins protect our skin from sun. But when body undergoes some adverse conditions, melanin production may be negatively affected.
Hyperpigmentation is caused when too much melanin is produced by melanocytes at particular spots. The reason behind this can be hormonal imbalane, pregnancy, sun exposure, improper diet and stress etc.
You can try some home remedies to reduce uneven skin. No remedy is magic and will take time in showing noticeable results. It is important to be regular and keep faith 🙂
Turmeric for Hyperpigmentation
Mix turmeric with milk in the ratio of 1:2 and make a paste. Apply this paste on your face and leave for 15 minutes. Massage your face with circular motions and wash the pack off with water.
Aloe Vera for Hyperpigmentation
Apply aloe vera gel on pigmentation spots daily and wash off after 15 minutes. It is best to use all natural, fresh aloe vera gel. If you can’t get it then ready-made ones are also nice options.
Almond for Hyperpigmentation
Soak a few almonds overnight and grind them the next day. Add in some honey to make a paste. Use this face pack on your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Scrub a little and rinse off.
Orange for Hyperpigmentation
Take a fresh orange and zest it. Mix the zest with a little milk to make a creamy paste. Use this pack on your face and let it stay for at least half an hour. Then massage well and wash off with warm water. This pack removes dead cells and renews your skin. Use this thrice a week.
It is the discoloration of skin and is known as vitiligo. White patches appear on certain areas of body in vitiligo. In some cases the discoloration may occur all over the body. Vitiligo is the result of immune system disorder. These spots have no treatment but home remedies can help to some extent. Here’s what you can try-
Turmeric for Hypo-pigmentation
Mix 5 tbsp. turmeric powder with 250 ml mustard oil. Apply this mixture daily on the affected area. Do it twice daily.
Bakuchi for Hypo-pigmentation
Grind dry bakuchi seeds to make powder. Make a paste using coconut oil and bakuchi powder. Apply this daily on affected area.
Red Clay for Hypo-pigmentation
Take some ginger juice and mix with red clay. Apply this paste daily on white patches. This remedy is very effective.
Water for Hypo-pigmentation
Water kept overnight in a copper vessel is good for our digestive system. This water can also help in reducing vitiligo. Drink this water daily in the morning.
