How To Use Aloe Vera Gel For Hair
The weather is a bit too humid these days, and this weather, along with romance in the air brings heap loads of frizz to the hair!
We all have heard of aloe vera gel and its immense goodness, but have you even remotely heard about the benefits of aloe vera gel?
Aloe vera gel promotes moisture and gives shiny hair. It also prevents hair loss and dandruff. It is rich in water, vitamin and minerals, amino acids and many phytonutrients. Aloe vera gel is well known for promoting hair growth, anti-inflammatory, anti-neuritic, anti-fungal and anti-dandruff properties. So, let us see how you can use aloe vera gel for your hair.
1. Leave In Conditioner
Aloe vera is well known as a hair conditioner due to its moisturizing property. It controls the frizz by closing the hair cuticles at a pH value of 4.5. Take equal amounts of water and aloe vera gel and add few drops of essential oil. Mix them well and pour this in a spray bottle. Shake it and spray it all over your scalp and hair. It conditions and manages your hair well. You should try this because aloe vera keeps hair hydrated and moisturized. It works well on oily hair type and accentuates curls.
2. Pre-Poo Treatment
If you have dandruff then aloe vera is for you. The enzymes present in it eliminate the dead cells and fungus built up on your scalp. Take some aloe vera gel and massage it to your scalp directly. Leave it for half an hour and then rinse your hair. If you want, you can also mix some coconut milk and wheat germ oil in it.
Aloe vera gel can directly be used as a shampoo due to its hydrating properties. Just apply it and massage to your damp scalp and hair and rinse it. If you can’t avoid using your regular shampoo then add this gel to your shampoo and use it.
4. Hair Pack:
For deep conditioning you can use it in your hair pack. Apply the gel to your damp hair evenly and wrap it with a hot towel and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes. Let your hair absorb it and then wash it well using mild shampoo. You can use it in many other ways by adding different ingredients to it. Try using hibiscus paste, fenugreek paste, curry leaves powder, etc. to the same to promote hair growth. If you want to cure dandruff then try adding lemon juice, neem oil or neem leaves paste to the same instead. You always tend to use many hair packs. Just add this gel to it in order to get its benefits.
5. Overnight Treatment:
You can even opt for deep overnight treatment for damaged hair. Take ½ cup of aloe vera gel, two spoons of castor oil, two spoons of fenugreek powder and one spoon of basil powder. Mix the ingredients well and apply all over scalp and hair. Cover with a shower cap and sleep with it. Next morning wash with a mild shampoo.
- Strain the aloe vera gel properly. Remove the white sediments completely and there should not be any green exteriors left in it.
- There are ready made products available made with aloe vera gel. If you are using this then check the ingredients and also read the instructions carefully. Suppose you want to use heat on your hair and the instructions say not to use heat then avoid it. Use the natural aloe vera gel when you want to heat and this product separately.
