Instagram Makeup V/S Real Makeup

Hello, beauties!

Instagram is one of the most popular apps that we have installed in our phones in recent times. This gives us an immense opportunity to get creative in terms of photography. This photo sharing app is not only really easy to use but also a place where people can fake their beauty and makeup skills. And there where the problem lies. We often see MUAs flaunting their makeup skills on Insta which are picture perfect but in real life, when we try them out, they are never even close to them. But why? The answer is that there is a difference between the makeup we see on Instagram and in our real life which is the result of filters and excessive editing. Let’s get real here!

Smoky Eyes:

smoky eyes

Yes, smoky eyes! No matter how perfect one’s smoky eyes is, it is never even close to the Insta ones. The reason is simple – we don’t have colour correctors in our eyes or filters on our face. The Insta smoky eyes look strikingly gorgeous but totally impossible in our real life.

Blush:

Can you do Yellow Blush in real life? No! But you can on Instagram. We stick to pink, coral or peach blushes in real life but on the social app, this can go as wild as Yellow too!

Contour:

Yes, this is another area where Insta has gone extreme. Nobody can do the Kim Kardashian like contouring in real life and we all stick to basic level on the contouring front. The contouring on Instagram is a different ball game altogether which is not at all real!

Highlighter:

black lipstick and highlighting

Yes, we all love that glowy look on our face that highlighter provides but do you ever can sport the kind of highlighter Instagram has? I bet none! The highlighter that we do in our real life is low to medium while on Insta it is way beyond extreme.

Ombre Lips:

Real:

Did you see the difference on the ombre lips section? Both have done horizontal ombre where a lighter lip shade is in the middle while a darker one is at the edges. But the kind of lustre you see on the Insta one is missing in the real one as there are no filters in this one!
