Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer
Hi girls. Today I am going to review a winter essential. We can’t think of winter days without body lotions or moisturizers. So my today’s pick is Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer.
The name describes that this body lotion is meant for dry skin people. My skin is dry round the year which increases in winters. Carry on reading to know how it fared on me.
About Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer:
Jergens is a U.S.A based company.
It contains vitamin C Palmitate, vitamin E, pro vitamin B5.
Price – 279 INR for 369ml. Buy from Flipkart.com here
My experience with Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer:
Packaging– Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer comes in a bulky milky white container with a sky blue colored flip cap. The bottle is not transparent so one cannot see how much lotion is left inside. The packaging is simple but sturdy. I have no problem with this. The cap is leak proof and I have never noticed lotion leaking from the cap. It seems that the packaging is travel friendly too. Larger bottles come with a pump dispenser but it would be better if it also came in a pump bottle.
Texture, smell, color – This lotion is white color and personally I like this as I don’t like colored cream or moisturizers. Consistency wise it is not so runny and is quite thick. It is formulated for extra dry skin people and thus is thick in nature.
Texture is very smooth and though it is little thick, it spreads easily on the skin. It has a faint medicinal smell which is not so overpowering. The smell vanishes as soon as I apply it on my skin. Girls who love moisturizers with lingering good smell may not love it.
Performance– When I apply it on my skin after bathing it gets absorbed quite easily and quickly. It does not leave any greasy residue on skin which is a plus point.
My Nivea body lotion gives a subtle glow on my skin without any greasy feeling. But this lotion does not add any extra glow to my skin.
The 24 hour claim somewhere is not true as I need to reapply it at bed time to keep my skin free from dryness. I have to apply a minimum of two times to maintain my dry skin.
But I have no complaint about this as Nivea body lotion for extra dry skin too requires twice application. So it is not a big deal for me.
What I like about Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer:
- Sturdy travel friendly packaging
- Does not leave greasy residue on skin
- Texture is smooth
- Spreads easily
- Absorbs quickly
What I don’t like about Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer:
- Availability may be an issue ( though it is available in online stores)
- Thick consistency
- 24 hour claim is not true
- Contains alcohol and parabens
Overall verdict- If you have very dry skin and have tried many lotions with no satisfactory result, you should definitely try this. Oily skin people may find it heavy on them. It is also mainly suitable for winters as it comes with a thick consistency. Overall it is not a bad product. If you love to try new things you may include it in your list.
