Kareena Kapoor is at the top of her career at the moment.  She has worked her way up and along with all of that not forgotten to maintain her glowing and radiant skin and glamorous figure.  In this article I would like to talk about a few aspects of her life like her make up routine, beauty rituals, diet, fitness and beauty icons that she looks up to.

She prefers to use a pale shade of pink, instead of bright colors and bronzer over of blush because it gives her the dusky complexion that she is fond of.

Her favorite beauty products are a MAC lipstick in Cherish and a MAC blush in ‘Improper Copper’.  She also vouches that MAC’s Viva Glam V lipstick will work with almost anything. When it comes to eyeliners, she loves Chanel Kohl pencils in black and for a smoky-eyed look  finds Yves Saint Laurent’s eye pencils to be her favorite.  She also loves Lorac Eyeshadow in moonstone, Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick, and Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow.

As far as tips and tricks of the trade are concerned Kareena says that her eyes have never failed her. She focuses on making them pop.   Since she does not wear make-up on a daily basis, when she steps into town, she highlights her features by lining her eyes with Black Kohl and for an evening out she accentuates them with a shimmery silver or champagne eyeshadow.

Her favourite fragrances are by Jean Paul Gaultier.  On special occasions she wears Un Jardin en Mediterranee by Hermes. She also enjoys Ralph Lauren Romance and YSL Vice Versa.

Madam follows a strict regime when it comes to her face. Her daily go-to face wash is one from Lancome.  She avoids using creams because of the high chemical content of these products.  She does however like to use Clarins’ HydraQuench’ cream during the cold to avoid dry skin and does not believe in facials.

Kareena takes her hair very seriously. She likes to oil her hair once a month with a misture of almond, castor, coconut, and olive oils. She find that it helps her look her glamorous best.

Kareenas 70% diet and 30% exercise is the reason for her fabulous figure.  She is a vegetarian and eats fruits, yogurts, vegetables, salads, soups,peanuts, yogurt, soy milk, and packets of chana.  She also has a lot of green vegetables like spinach, fenugreek, and broccoli.  Her meals contain lots of grains and she doesn’t cut down on carbs.  She likes to eat every 2 or 3 hours in small quantities and ends the day with dal, vegetables, curd, and roti or brown rice. Furthermore, she drinks a lot of water, which helps keep her skin hydrated and in great shape.  Her focus is on nutrition, not calories.

Kareena is an avid fan of yoga and does meditation on a daily basis for about an hour per day.  Ashtanga yoga and Power yoga are her favorites because it gives her the workout she needs.  She also does upto 50 to 100 repetitions of the Surya Namaskar per session.  Surya Namaskar is helpful for the body and mind making use of nearly 95% of all the muscles in your body.  It is most beneficial when done early in the morning, prior to eating breakfast and 1 Surya Namaskar, is equivilant to doing 100 situps and pullups. Each repetition can burn 2.3 kilocalories of energy .

Kareena credits her sister Karisma as her beauty idol. She adored her sister as a child and has never found her to appear anything less than fabulous. She combines great clothes, glamourous hair, and perfect makeup. Kareena credits her sister to this day as her chief advisor for what to wear and how to wear it.  She also admires Scarlett Johansson and Julia Roberts.

  1. Her dietecian is Rujuta Diwekar.. She has 2 written 2 books relating to diet and both are fab.. I never knew losing weight could be EASY! With her help, I easily lost 4.5 kgs in 1 month and dat along wid eating chocolate pastries, potatao wedges 2-3 times in 1 month.

    I highly recommend her books to everyone! She has made my skin n hair look much better dan be4!

  2. More than anything Kareena is blessed with absolutely amazing skin! She once mentioned in an interview that when ppl meet her in real for the 1st time, they can’t believe how flawless her skin actually is. N she does practically nothing to take care of it…how lucky is that :-)) N i love her sense of style…she’s not afraid to experiment and knows what suits her well :yes:

OH…i totally think she rocks currently and accentuating her eyes is so good!! i still cant get over her look in Kurbaan and would love to do it myself!!! plus, she’s this totally no-nonsense attitude and is aware of her goals…i guess thats why her moves seem calculated (no negative emotion intended)

    And am a big big Rujuta diwekar fan and I’m going back on her eat less more often diet all over again.. What I loved about her book was – she advocates eating and eating healthy. Most dieticians eliminate food groups and its really not a good thing..

    • i once had a yoga instructor, who is really wow i must say .. she’s not reed thin, has enough curves but no love handles .. and her advice when i asked her was that eat small and often (say 7-8 small meals instead 3 square meals ), this increases ur metabolism. and if u crave to eat something, drink water, if you still feel like eating, eat some fruit / juice / nariyal paani / buttermilk ..
      she said you dont need to do all that jazz exercise stuff, just 64 suryanamaskars , and 10 mins shirsaasan (upside down wala – most difficult but most beneficial aasan) and 10 mins rest .. done for the day .. she’s 60, looks nothing more than 45..

      Sandy i was doing this for 6 months, believe me i had reduced 8 kgs.. then my nightmare started .. IT company happened .. :hammer:

      • Jan: My job turned out to be my biggest bane 🙁 I gained 10 kilos ok? 10 effing kilos in 2yrs and I dunno how to get rid of it.. ok, I know how to.. But i have no energy left in me to even lift a finger leave alone run on the treadmill.. :reallyangry: I need to do it again and I hope i make it..

        • sandy, i tried gym, i maintained constant wt but one irreversible effect i got from gym was that my leg fat got converted to muscles, now my calves are rock solid i am trying to do somethign abt it , burning muscles is something i would not wish on my enemy.. so i quit gym .. I am going back to yoga .. and plan to start learning swimming ..

  5. ana… those two sisters have the most amazing skin.. have seen them on flights… i once did a hongkong flight when all these stars were going for iifa…but they r nt gracious at all… not in the least…infact the worse skin i have seen on an actress is shilpa shetty… she has some serious eye bags… n the prettiest skin is aishwarya… wht a lady.. even when shes without makeup and just woken up from sleep she looks gorgeous!

  6. ya ive seen kareena at HT pale but clear skin…something like what navneet looks in her pics…clear…(so thats a compliment to u navneet) and very skinny. i met her current POWER YOGA instructor at a childrens party last month. the instructors waist is my thigh. she is just a stick nothind else. all muscle and some clothes thrown over. she is a commercial pilot and left that for power yoga and enjoys it. shes with them 24×7. everywhere karishma and kareena go

    • seriously navneet has such a flawless skin in her piccies .. but again chrissy , is being fit and healthy equated to being skinny ?? earlier generation ppl think if you have a small layer of muscle between your bones and skin, then ur healthy .. but nowadays ppl are obsessed with having only bones and skin (myslef included sometimes .. but i just cannot knock off that extra !!! ) .. do a post on this na ..

      • Well Well Well.Thanks for the compliment gals.My skin looks good in the pictures and ya it is to some extent but sometimes I am attacked with acne also, ya but i dont have dark circles n all 😀

  7. Yeah she has great skin, and has done well in films like Jab we met
    but i sometimes feel hers is also a case of excellent PR….. She has a great PR team that portrays her exactly the way she wants people to perceive her,, a diva!!!
