Kryolan Bush-On Concealer Shade 06 Review

Kryolan Brush-On Concealer  Shade 06

Hello everyone! This is my first post on Wise She and IÒ€ℒm super-excited to be here πŸ˜€ Now which one of you here hates dark circles? Yes, I hear you, I hate it too! Concealers alone arenÒ€ℒt enough to combat severe dark circles and thatÒ€ℒs where the colour corrector steps in! A few days back Ruhee reviewed a MAC corrector here and today IÒ€ℒll be reviewing a pocket-friendly colour corrector at almost half the price of MAC. Read on to know moreÒ€¦..

Today I will be reviewing the Brush-on Concealer by Kryolan which is an orange colour corrector, but before moving on with the review letÒ€ℒs see what the company says about the product, shall we? πŸ™‚

Ò€œ Brush-on Concealer is a cream make-up to conceal shadows under the eyes, as well as slight discolorations of the skin. This light, but effectively covering concealer corrects and cares the area of skin involved. Ò€¨Brush-on Concealer is offered in a practical, handy applicator with integrated brush.Ò€

The product comes in a twist-up tube with a brush at one end. You need to twist the bottom part of it a couple of times for the product to come out, ideally 3 twists dispenses enough product to cover both my eyes. The product peeks out at one corner only (as shown in the pic below, I wonder why :-/) which I dab on the under-eyes and then use the brush to spread it out. Blending it with fingers is the best way to achieve an even look.

The corrector is bright orange in colour. It effectively neutralizes the discolourations and provides a nice base for the concealer. It takes a few tries to find out the exact amount of product required for usage. My first few uses were nightmares, I tell ya! I was left with orange under-eyes :-/ It has an impressive staying power, it stays put for 6-7 hours easily when set with a setting powder.

From all the above rantings you wouldÒ€ℒve guessed that this is one of my favourite products and I assure you that it is my favourite, but it also has a few shortcomings : Once you get a product out, you have to use it or it gets wasted, no chance of storing it back; quantity of product is not mentioned anywhere and since the tube is opaque you have no clue regarding how much of the product is remaining and last but not the least, making the product come out of the tube for the first time is a herculean task, you have to twist it 20-25 times πŸ˜›

Summing up,

What I like about the Kryolan Bush-On Concealer Γ’β‚¬β€œ Shade 06 :

  • Impressive staying power.
  • Feels comfortable on skin.
  • Neutralizes the discolourations and dark circles very well.
  • Pocket-friendly πŸ™‚
  • Very creamy and easy to blend.

What I donÒ€ℒt like about the Kryolan Bush-On Concealer Shade 06 :

  • Quantity is not mentioned and the amount of product remaining in the tube cannot be determined.
  • Availability is an issue.

Rating : 4.5/5

  1. u read my mind gayatri..:) just this morn i was thinking of buying a corrector.. although i am looking at the clinique one after some unfavourable experiences with kryolan base makeup.. but think i shud give this a go

    • Maitri, colour correctors make a huge difference to your look.. If you have dark circles, use peach (if you have a light skin tone) or orange (if you have a medium skintone).. If you are suffering from Acne and your skin is red, use green colour corrector πŸ™‚

        • No.. Both the ranges are independent in terms of shades.. Both the ranges (Dermacolor & Brush-On) have concealers and correctors.. This shade is a corrector (though it says concealer on the package).. Concealers and correctors are different, if the derma D5 conceals your dark circles effectively, stick to that.. Get this corrector only if the concealers you use make the under eye area look ashy.. It is mandatory to use a concealer on top of a corrector, otherwise it wont look good..
In short, when you have mild dark circles your routine should be : Concealer + setting powder
If you have severe dark circles your routine should be : Corrector + concealer + setting powder..
Sorry for the long reply, hope this helps πŸ™‚

          • hey u explained it so well dear .Thank you so much . i never knew both follow different shades.
infact i wear glasses and then i use derma . but when i wear contacts, the dark circles look very evident.

            • Thank you Anamika πŸ™‚
@mitha : First of all, same pinch, i use glasses too and I’ve the exact same problem! Yeah, the shades don’t match.. Though the concealers from Derma range are great in concealing the dark circles after a while I get the feel that i’ve put something under my eyes and they feel heavy but with this I pretty much forget that I’ve used something under my eyes.. Also remember to use only a light-medium coverage concealer when you use a corrector, heavy coverage concealers (like the derma ones) on top of correctors will feel heavy and are unncessary πŸ™‚ Why am I typing so much? :-/ Stopping it now! πŸ˜›

  2. Gayathri, I Have This Too n Love It!

I Also Agree With The Staying Power Part, It’s Really Awesome!
Only The 9 Months Period is a Lil Irritating For Me.. But, Oh Well! πŸ˜›

    • Try them out rachna πŸ™‚ Most of the kryolan products are hits but there are some misses too, check a few reviews before getting your hands on them πŸ™‚

    • This is better than that, the main difference between this and that is this has a creamy light-weight texture and is easier to blend πŸ™‚
