Lets salute the legend

Let us celebrate the birth anniversary of our freedom fighter Chandrasekhar Azad who could have lead a care free like ours but chose to dedicate his life to his motherland. It is disheartening to see not even a single line in the newspaper for this great leader has been written in the newspaper today. How will our generation realize the importance of freedom if we forget these leaders.Let us keep them alive.Let our children know what our leaders did for us and for them.

Few lines about  the leader

Born: July 23,1906

Died: February 27, 1931
Achievements: Involved in Kakori Train Robbery (1926), the attempt to blow up the Viceroy’s train (1926), and the shooting of Saunders at Lahore (1928) to avenge the killing of Lala Lajpatrai; formed Hindustan Socialist Republican Association with fellow compatriots Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru.
Chandrashekhar Azad was a great Indian freedom fighter. His fierce patriotism and courage inspired others of his generation to enter freedom struggle. Chandrasekhar Azad was the mentor Bhagat Singh, another great freedom fighter, and along with Bhagat Singh he is considered as one of the greatest revolutionaries that India has produced.

In the end would like to leave you with a quotation of Shaheed bhagat singh  from his prision diary.

* “The aim of life is no more to control the mind, but to develop it harmoniously; not to achieve salvation here after, but to make the best use of it here below; and not to realise truth, beauty and good only in contemplation, but also in the actual experience of daily life; social progress depends not upon the ennoblement of the few but on the enrichment of democracy; universal brotherhood can be achieved only when there is an equality of opportunity – of opportunity in the social, political and individual life.” ? from Bhagat Singh’s prison diary, p. 124

  5. Yes.. very very true Anamika.! The other day only I was his biography. Their lives, revolutionaries', were so meaningful. Hats off.!

  6. In fact, Gandhi didnt' get along with them. They tried their best to convince him, but in vain. There are so many stories. In fact because of Gandhi only Bhagasingh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged. He could have saved them.Anyways, its terrible reading all this. I totally have more respect for these Revolutionaries.

  7. Yup, may be because Mahatma was against voilence but my heart doesn't allow me to believe that a person like Bapu will not initiate in saving some ones life..I saw in a movie that he asked in one of the meeting to stop the hanging of the guys but he didnt stress it too much.. so many be people took it like that..
