I’m sure you guys remember my haul post where I showed off the little travel sized shampoo and conditioner from L’Occitane from their Aromachology range. I’ve been using this shampoo and conditioner for over three weeks now, so I thought it’s time to review them.

L’Occitane Aromachology Soothing Shampoo

I bought a 75ml bottle of this shampoo for €5.50. According to L’Occitane’s website “…this shampoo helps soothe sensitive or irritated scalp. Its gentle formula cleanses and purifies the scalp, easing immediately irritations and aggressions, and adding genuine softness to hair. Scalp returns to a healthy and comfortable state…” I have struggled with a dry and itchy scalp ever since winter began, so I was hoping this would help.

What I like about L’occitane en Provence Shampoo :-

  • Gorgeous fragrance
  • Convenient and inexpensive trial size (perfect for travel!)

What I didn’t like about L’occitane en Provence Shampoo :-

  • It didn’t clean my hair effectively – I found my hair becoming greasy the next day after shampooing and I don’t usually have greasy hair.
  •  It did not cure my dry, itchy scalp – It didn’t even help!

L’Occitane Aromachology Soothing Conditioner

I bought a 75ml bottle of this conditioner for €6. According to L’Occitane’s website “his conditioner helps soothe sensitive or irritated scalp. It immediately eases irritations and aggressions and helps to protect the scalp against the damaging effects of environmental stresses. Hair is detangled, soft and shiny.” I never use conditioner on my scalp (usually putting it only on my hair from the ears down), but since this conditioner promised to soothe my scalp, I applied it to my scalp and hair both.

What I like about L’occitane en Provence Conditioner:-

  •  Gorgeous fragrance
  • It made my hair very soft and shiny – even my husband noticed!
  • Convenient and inexpensive trial size (perfect for travel!)

What I didn’t like about L’occitane en Provence  Conditioner:-

  •  It did not cure my dry itchy scalp
  •  It may have contributed to my hair’s greasiness the next day

In conclusion, the L’Occitane Aromachology Soothing shampoo and conditioner set didn’t meet my high expectations and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who is looking to sooth their itchy scalp. I’m off to look for another shampoo/conditioner combo that will nourish my hair and scalp, without leaving it greasy. Any suggestions? 🙂
