My Experience with Lord & Berry Seta Pressed Powder Eye Shadow ‘South Beach’

I had got Lord & Berry eye shadow from Flipkart online shopping site some 1 year back. It is a well known brand of cosmetics from UK. This range of shadows comes in wide variety of shades with different finish. The particular shade, I am going to review has satin matte finish.

Packaging: These eye shadows come in a square pan with a black opaque cover. Brand name is printed over the cover. Mirror is lodged inside the inner side of the cover, so quite useful for touch ups. Shade name along with other information is mentioned on the bottom of the pan. List of complete ingredients in mentioned in the outer carton provided with it. I found the packaging to be classy and sturdy.

Shade:

South beach is a pretty rust brown shade with orangish tones. I was looking forward to such kind of shades for using it in my crease area. Sometimes orange shadows can look garish, such brown orange shade looks very natural and can be used for creating myriads of eye makeup looks.

Pigmentation: Lord & Berry Seta pressed eye shadow ‘South Beach’ is intensely pigmented shade. I have never seen any matte shade except my Illamasqua burst shadow to be this pigmented. I do not need any primer while using this shadow. It easily shows up with one swipe even on my pigmented lids. It is a versatile intense shadow that will suit all complexions equally.

Staying Power: It has incredibly high staying power. Without a base it stays on my eyes for 4-5 hours without creasing in humid weather. There is absolutely no fall out and with a primer underneath, its staying power increases more than 5 hours +. However, its intensity reduces with time.

Texture & Finish: I have used several matte eye shadows from various drugstore and high end brands. Most of shades are either chalky or poorly pigmented. However, I was extremely surprised with this shadow in terms of color payoff, intensity and finish. It has silky matte finish. It releases intense color with one swipe over my lid without a primer. It is comparable to Illamasqua matte eye shadows in terms of quality. It is very soft and finely milled powder shadow. It has velvety matte finish. I never have to layer it up as it is intensely pigmented. I use it for my crease area and also sometimes on my lid.

My Overall Recommendation: I would highly recommend this matte rust brown shade to all eye makeup enthusiasts. It will be a great crease color for creating smokey makeup looks. It is an intensely pigmented velvety soft shadow with matte finish. It can be incorporated in various looks. I will suggest everyone to grab this particular shade from this range.

P.S- Closest dupe of this shade is Coastal scents hot pot in Oktoberfest.

  1. This is so beautiful although in the pan it looks quite orangy than what it looks in the swatch..

    Beautiful eotd Taps 🙂

    • Thanks a lot dear, yes it is loreal black lacquer liquid liner, believe me just practice 2-3 times, You will get knack of it, applying liquid liner is quite easy! I find it it difficult to work with when my pencil liner or gel liner starts drying up.
