Lush Sandstone Soap Reviews

Hi All,

Exfoliation is said to be one of the most important steps in skincare and I will admit I have been obsessed with exfoliation even more than moisturizing my skin! I know its weird, but ever since I discovered the ‘miracle’ of exfoliation I have wanted to try every new product under the sun which does this effectively. Yes, there have been times when I’ve ended up with scraped skin and uber-dry patches but well, what can I say…I’m obsessed!!! That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it ;) Lush Sandstone is one such product I picked up coz the minute I heard the SA mention ‘exfo -‘ I knew I had to have it..

Lush Sandstone Soap Review + natural soap

  • Appearance –Lush Sandstone is a yellow colored soap which is quite uneven and kinda reminds me of rocky mountains (too much??) The side of the soap has a patch of brown sand which is supposed to help in exfoliation.
  • Texture –The soap is a tad bit oily and seems greasy to touch. If I hold it in my hand for 5mins, it actually starts melting. When using it, it’s pretty smooth and even the sandy side isn’t too rough that it can’t be used. It doesn’t scrape the skin off your body so those with sensitive skin can breathe easy 😉
  • Fragrance – Lemons, lemons, and more lemons…And how about some more Lemons???? I think I’ve made it quite obvious as to what it smells like 😉 The lemony scent is quite sharp though and may not be appreciated by those who are not too fond of citrus scents. The scent is so strong that the entire bathroom will smell like lemons after you’ve used it 🙂 🙂

Lush Sandstone Soap Review + handcrafed soap

Verdict:Lush Sandstone Soap

I have a very neutral view towards this soap. I did like the mild exfoliating action and the intense fragrance it has, but it isn’t as moisturizing as I’d like. When it started getting all melty in my hands, I thought that it would be super moisturizing and a bit creamy…but that was not to be… It dries the skin quite drastically and I need to run and my moisturizer becomes my best friend while I’m using this soap. I don’t think I’d be re-purchasing this, but the lemony fragrance was nice as long as it lasted…

What I like about Lush Sandstone:

  • Would suit oily skin the most.
  • Exfoliation effect is mild and totally non-abrasive
  • Doesn’t melt as fast as many other Lush soaps.
  • I LOVE the fragrance! The strong and sharp lemony scent is amazing.
  • Feel very awake and refreshed after using this

What I don’t like about Lush Sandstone:

  • The fragrance may be too sharp for some
  • Dries out my skin…my skin literally gets dry as a desert after using this.

Ratings:

  • Moisturizing ability: 3.5/5
  • Fragrance: 5/5
  • Availability: 4.5/5
  • Price vs. Quality: 3.5/5

Would I repurchase this?? Nope..Too drying for my skin.

Have you tried Lush Sandstone Soap?
