Lush Vanishing Cream Review

Hi all,

I am back with a review of another LUSH product. It’s the most expensive skin care product that I have bought ever and among all the LUSH products that I have tried, this is the one that has disappointed me. Read on to know why.

There are many reviews of lush products meant for oily acne prone skin here on Wise She which are as follows:

About Lush Vanishing Cream:-

The low fat moisturizer, making your skin troubles vanish. If you have acne, oily skin, spots on your T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) you could use a pot of our new Vanishing Cream. It’s not magic, though, it’s beautifully traditional natural science. We make it with a new low-fat base, so it’s light as a feather and sinks in. There’s no cocoa butter; although we love it, we know it’s not for everyone. Instead, we use shea butter and deeply softening linseed gel, with low-fat camellia, grapeseed and jojoba oils. Of course, you don’t have to have problem skins to use it; if you’d like a comforting, balancing moisturizer that keeps your skin clear with lavender, neroli and geranium essential oils, then walk this way. But if your skin torments you every day, making you over-oily, spotty, red or sore then you definitely need this. Use it with Herbalism, Angels on Bare Skin, Fresh Farmacy, Tea Tree Water, or a new Tea Tree Toner Tab.

My experience with Lush Vanishing Cream

I have acne prone skin and could never find any moisturizer that suited my skin. I bought this on impulse along with Fresh Farmacy, Grease Lightning, Tea Tree Water-all the products that LUSH claims to treat acne. This a very light moisturizer that does not feel heavy when applying and gets absorbed very easily and does not make my face oily. A small amount goes a long way and one tub will last months. It has never broken me out nor does it clogs my pores. I got this in winter because my skin gets super dry and I did not find it moisturizing enough. But the biggest issue for me is the unhygienic packaging. I just don’t like sticking my fingers in the pot every time considering all the bacteria and germs left behind in the tub. Also it does nothing on my existing blemishes which it claims to Vanish.

Pros of Lush Vanishing Cream:-

  • Does not cause acne
  • Does not clog pores
  • Very light, gets easily absorbed and controls oil.

Cons of Lush Vanishing Cream:-

  • Expensive
  • Not moisturizing enough
  • Unhygienic Packaging
  • No effect on existing blemishes.

For me the cons of this product outweigh the pros and after finishing the existing tub, I will not be buying this again.

  1. Aaah it hurts when u shell out this much money on a product n it doesnt deliver 🙁 U cud hav tried clinique for this price. Thanks for reviewing this anyway 🙂

  2. For an oily and acne prone skin the best bet would be to use prescription products or products with no fragrance or irritants [ ergo…. no essential oils and all that crap ].Lush is so unnecessarily expensive ……..god 300 and above for a soap ! . There so many great soaps handmade and otherwise with glycerin. For vanishing cream… Afghan snow is the best bet… the original vanishing cream ! Why would you want to use a ‘cream’ [ergo with oils] for oily skin ?

  3. damn!! this dint work at al?!?! and so pricey too! i hate it when such prdts turn out t b duds…especially since we buy it wid so much enthu and anticipation..not t mention oodles of money!

    • first of all, Lush vanishing cream is not for acne treatment. It will only take away the tan.. That is what i think they claim… atleast i only told that… i found it very effective to take away my tan. Worked really well for me
