MAC Cremeblend Blush Tea Petal: Review, Swatches

Hi All,

MAC Cremeblend Blush Tea Petal Review+mac blushes

On my last trip to MAC, I had pre-decided that I wanted to buy a Cremeblend blush. I’d done some research as usual and had brought it down to either Posey or Lady blush. But while swatching them  it got me a bit confused…for some odd reason, Ladyblush looked way too pale on me and Posey, although a pretty color, didn’t seem to last too long on me. I wore it, and went to try some lippies and eyeshadows and by the time I was back to the blushes in 20mins, it had faded to a much lighter pink and although beautiful, it didn’t look unique or different than some other pinks I have. I was feeling a li’l let down till the MUA happened to show me Tea Petal. Now mind you, I’d done my research on Tea Petal too and some other blog swatches made it look more brown which is why I’d skipped it in the first place. But the MUA explained how like powder blushes, this cream blush also would look diff on diff skintones…I swatched it myself for the first time and that was that…I walked out with the refill in tow 🙂

My take on the MAC Cremeblend Blush in Tea Petal:

  • Color: The blush is a plum brown shade without any shimmer at all.

  • Price:  INR 1350 for the full pan and INR 1150 for the refill
  • Quantity:  6g

  • Pigmentation & Texture: This is crazily pigmented and I usually need very little for one cheek. It’s easy to blend but due to the darker nature of this color, you have to be a bit more careful to blend out the harsh edges or else it will def be visible.

  • Staying Power: This blush stays  for approx 7hrs.

This is a shade which would work differently on diff skintones. Shweta and I were discussing sometime last week or so and she mentioned it looked more brown on her and apt for contouring. Whereas on me, it looks more mauve than brown and I can’t even dream of using it for contouring unless I wanted to look like I’d been punched.

All in all, I’d say this is a gorgeous shade to have but do try it out first. It may look different on diff skintones and because of this you may end up missing out on a gr8 shade. Infact, if this works as a contouring shade for any of you, i’d still say it’s worth it because I’ve recently realised how amazing cream contouring products look and how natural they seem on the skin. Prosculpting creams in MAC cost about 1650 which is about 500bucks pricier than this…So, by my calculation, this is still a winner…what say?

What I like about MAC Cremeblend Blush in Tea Petal:

  • The shade would work on every skintone albeit in different ways.
  • Good staying power
  • Easy to apply and blend
  • Sets quickly which is a godsent
  • Amazing pigmentation
  • Can be used as a blush or even to contour depending on your skintone.

What I don’t like about MAC Cremeblend Blush in Tea Petal:

  • A bit deceptive I felt..I’d have never tried it if the MUA hadn’t told me to.
