Last week I went to MAC to purchase my 2nd studio fix compact. There I saw a new collection “fantasy of flowersâ€. This lipstick is a part of that collection. Another lipstick, one gloss, highlighter and some more things were also there whose names I forgot. 🙂
When I swatched this lipstick I instantly fell in love with it. Read on to know why
M.A.C. describes this lipstick as a sheer coral red. It has a lustre finish.
As the finish is lustre, this is semi sheer in texture and feels very light when applied .The lipstick has very fine shimmers which don’t show up on lips, neither do they feel gritty. Result: smooth glossy and juicy lips 🙂
The color looks orange in the tube but when applied it looks pinkish with hints of orange.
After coming home, I applied the lipstick and to my disappointment, the color looked a bright orange on me which I didn’t liked at all. All the fine lines of my lips were visible. My lips looked like a pop on my face which was very horrifying to me. I regretted my purchase totally. The next morning I applied again but with a light hand and boy! I loved the way my lips looked, glossy pinkish orange.
I apply lipstick the last while getting ready for office that is at 9.20 am. 🙂 On my lips this last maximum up to 3-4 hours without eating or drinking anything. Gradually the glossiness wears off slightly like during 1pm but the color remains. One cup of coffee lightens the color considerably and after a meal the color stays around the edges of my lips so again I have to reapply. For a shade like this I always try to find ways to reapply 🙂
My upper lip is slightly pigmented, so I get away with it, those with heavily pigmented lips need to swipe more than twice. Also the color will differ according to the color of your lips. On pink lips it will show up as more pinkish orange. On brown lips it may look peachy.
What I like about M.A.C. Dreaming Dahlia Lipstick:
- Gorgeous summery color
- Its M.A.C. 🙂
- Lightweight and can be build up
- Comfortable on lips
- Gives lips a soft glossy effect without the need to add lip gloss
What I don’t like about MAC Lustre Lisptick Dreaming Dahlia:
- Can find dupes in other brands
Do I recommend? Yes Yes Yes 🙂
