MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35
Hey all beauty geeks!!! Today I am going to review MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35. There was a time when I needed and wanted a full coverage base every time. But over last few months, my skin has improved a lot and needs less coverage. Moreover, I have also become comfortable in my own skin and so, do not feel like applying a full cover up. But most foundations that I have are full coverage; so I visited a MAC counter to buy a medium coverage but natural looking foundation.
So, lets see how MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35 fared on me. 🙂

My take on MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35:
I have neutral undertones, though yellow undertones dominate a bit. So, the SA suggested MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35 for me. I wanted to pick up NC37 as it was a better match. However, she told me that the foundation has a tendency to oxidize upon wearing, so a lighter shade was a better choice. And she was right. Though the shade looks light upon applying, but after some time it oxidizes a bit and looks perfect on me.
MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation has a dewy finish. It looks quite natural and not at all cakey. However, since I have combination skin, my T-zone started getting shiny and oily with the day passing. You can definitely using an oil-controlling primer and a matte powder to set this foundation. It certainly helps, but this foundation will not suit very oily skinned beauties. Also, in summers, this might not suit even combination skin gals.
Another funny thing is that even though it does not control oil very much, it is also not perfect for very dry skin girls. It clings to dry patches and makes blendability little difficult. So, a perfect moisturized skin is the key for dry skin to rock this foundation.
Texture: MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35 has a creamy and smooth texture. It is neither very runny nor too thick. Blends easily with fingers, brush or a sponge. Of course, you need to have a prepped up moisturized base for a flawless look. The foundation looks very natural and settles to a slightly dewy finish.
Pigmentation: The coverage is medium to full, which is easily buildable. You can layer to get more coverage.
Staying Power: Stays on me for 6-7 hours, but starts wearing off my T-zone after 5 hours or so. Would last longer on normal skin though.
Packaging: MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35 comes in a clear squeeze tube with a black cap. The packaging is very travel friendly and convenient. Of course, you need to be careful while using it for first few times, as more foundation may squeeze out.
What I love about MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35:
- Creamy and smooth texture.
- Perfect consistency.
- Looks very natural on the skin.
- Medium to full coverage.
- Concealer not required most of the times.
- Very buildable coverage.
- Blends well.
- Has an SPF.
- Decent staying power.
- Convenient packaging.
What I do not love about MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35:
- Does not control oil.
- May cling to dry patches.
- A complete no for very oily skin.
- Oxidizes a bit.
- Little expensive.
Final Impression: MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC35 is more than an average foundation for me. I do use a matte primer and a setting powder to get the most out of this foundation. But I love its natural finish and buildable coverage. If you have normal or even a combination skin, go for this foundation. Definitely recommended!!!
