Makeup Basics For Dry Skin During Winters
Sick of having your foundation stick to your scales and your lip color gunk up on our parched pouts during winter?
Just read on this post to find out the Makeup basics for dry skin during winters.
Prep your skin
Most important step is to infuse skin with sufficient moisturizer so it stays smooth Apply facial serum follow with rich cream right after you get out of the shower to lock in moisture. Wait a few minutes to let your skin absorb the cream. Now apply a primer that should be creamy.
Now use concealer only where it is required, like on under eye circles and blemishes. Prefer a creamy formula based concealer if you have dry skin, and make sure that shade should match your skin tone. Apply in little stripes with a pointed concealer brush. Then blend using your ring finger for the lightest touch.
Take foundation that should suits your dry skin like Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation and draws thick lines down cheekbones, the sides of your nose and above brows, and blend with your fingers. You can also apply it with the help of foundation brush or beauty blender. Gently blend it in rolling motion and cover your blemish and redness. If redness or blemish is still poking through, go back and hide it with an extra layer of foundation.
If you want a convincing, hydrated glow then you can apply a pearly highlighter underneath foundation.
Warm your face up
Pick a liquid bronzer and dust apply it all over your face, including the top of the cheeks and the forehead, the bridge of your nose and chin with a miniature stippling brush.
Sweep what’s left on the brush over your neck so it all blends in evenly.
Let it Blush now
Try a cream blush for that glow-from-within effect. Apply to the apples of your cheeks, and then blend the color up toward your temples with your fingers.
Apply Shimmery Eye Base & Shadow
Let your eye lit up in winter. Apply a wash of sheer, shimmery cream shadow from lash lines to brow bones using your pointer finger. If you have fair skin then you should use silvery white shade. For medium to dark skin tones, opt for a champagne color instead.
To get an extra bright-eyed effect, dot the color onto the inner corners of your eyes too. Use bronze and gold cream shadow to make your eyes more intensify.
Define your lashes and line your rim – Rim your upper lash lines with a kohl pencil and smudge it upward with your shadow brush. Finish off with two coats of mascara.
Let your lips do all the talking now
If your lips are dry or at all chapped, gently buff with a damp washcloth and apply lip balm. Run a piece of ice over your lips before slicking on gloss to help color last all day and prevent it from bleeding.
You can pick any bright shade of lipstick like mauve, coral, bright red or pink for winter season.
Here are some additional basics that you should keep in mind, if you have dry skin
- If your skin is prone to flaking or dry patches, use liquid or cream foundations that contain oil.
- Exfoliate your lips once a week, dead; dry skin can’t hold moisture, or your lip gloss
- Avoid matte lipstick or long-wearing formulas; always go for lip gloss or sheer lipstick.
- If your skin is prone to flaking you do not need to wear powder based products.
