  1. Beauty palace in andheri oshiwara ,
Beauty center in kandivali there are beauty center in other places as well I am not very sure though
Shoppers stop, inorbit mall(Malad), raghuleela mall (Borivali) Of course! 😀
I am more of an online shopping person, because the mumbai traffice makes me lathargic 😀

  2. Makeup : New Beauty Center Khar ( NBC) and kandivali
    good discounts and GWP

Bags : Dharavi … best for leather bags but dont go after 4.00 , usually very crowded in evenings

Clothes : Bandra (W) Linking load , awesome inexpensive stuff for girls ,

or else try Irla ( ALFA stores) , you can find everything there …

TANZ would be good to answer this ….

  3. Check Alfa for foreign brands, make up, perfumes, electronics..(i am a big alfa fan..and it helps to live near it!!) there r loads of bags, shoes shops around it
For ur beauty stuff: check beauty palace/centers.
Malls: Inorbit (malad), Infinty 1 (andheri-w) & 2 (malad), oberoi mall (goregoan highway), Mega mall (oshiwara), Atria (worli), phoenix (lower parel)
For dress materials: gandhi market (kings circle), crawford market, Saroj (bandra)
Bandra linking road/ hill road: for shoes, bags, clothes
Enjoi shopping in Mumbai!! Dont let the traffic bug u down!

  4. For good, cheap and trendy clothes, accessories, footwear and bags: Colaba Market (where the famous Leopold Cafe is). It’s a string of stalls on the footpath and if u’re lucky then u can get great stuff at great bargains. Tip: Try and tag along a friend with u, especially if she’s from Mumbai. It’ll surely be fun. Many buy from Bandra as well – Linking Road and Elco Market but it isn’t one of my frequent joints. Lokhandwala Market also is pretty happening for many but apart from Lingerie, ‘sastaa’ footwear & bags, Aakarshak Art Gallery and Beauty World, it doesn’t work too well for me

Rs 100 – Rs 150 cool, trendy footwear: Colaba (yet again), Fashion Street and Linking Road (Bandra)
Good quality, branded / non-branded footwear: Bandra Linking Road – entire stretch and Warden Road

For branded stuff (clothes, accessories, make-up and footwear): (1.) The new Infiniti Mall at Malad and Palladium at Phoenix Mills for perhaps almost all premium brands (2.) Mega Mall at Oshiwara, Oberoi Mall at Goregaon and Infiniti Mall at Lokhandwala for semi-premium brands, Westside and Pantaloons (3.) Shopper’s Stop: There are plenty so google and check the closest one for u to reach (4.) Bandra Linking Road also is a host to a lottt of brands – premium and semi-premium

Designer stuff: (1.) Kimaya (for women and Ayamik (for men) at Juhu, Aza at Altamount Road (I guess I have seen their new store at Juhu also but ain’t sure), Exhibitions at Aakarshak Art Galleries in Lokhandwala and exhibitions at World Trade Centre, five star hotels and The Club (Andheri)
Heavy (& expensive) Traditional sarees, dresses and dress materials: Sushma Sarees at Juhu, Suruchi Sarees at Juhu, Milap Sarees at King’s Circle – Matunga and Options (for dresses) at Juhu and Lokhandwala

Dress Materials, Fabrics, Laces and Borders: Vandana and Saroj at Walkeshwar and Bandra, Tirumala at Manish Market – Four Bungalows – Andheri, Santacruz market (many shops) and entire Musafir Khana near Crawford Market (close to CST station)
Imitation silver jewellery (especially for good traditional wear): Santacruz market – plenty of great shops. The idea is to roam, roam, roam,… then select and keep in mind,… check other places and finally decide which one to buy. they’re proper shops close to each other… named Sia, Sagar, etc. Tip: Check all shops. Don’t buy in haste

Discounted make-up: New Beauty Centre at Khar and Beauty World at Lokhandwala. They give 5 – 20% discounts on a number of genuine brands. Really premium brands not available but rest like Revlon, L’Oreal, Mabeylline, Chambor, Lakme, etc. etc. etc. all available. Even herbal brands like Nature’s Essence, Aroma Magic et all along with make-up brushes, sponges, etc.

Discounted stuff electronics to stationary to umbrellas to bed linen to crockery to clothes to eateries to personal care products and what-not: ALFA at Irla (Vile Parle). If u are in Mumbai, u have to visit ALFA. Period. There are around 5 Alfas close to each other. Visit Alfa 1, Alfa for mobile phones and cosmetics and Alfa for electronics, crockery and bags, etc. (It’s Alfa 3 I guess). It’s impossible for u to not love Alfa. If u wanna skip Alfa, u can roam around Crawford Market too but it’s huge and despite of being a Mumbaiite I get lost so would suggest u tag along a friend who’s good with roads.

Mumbai’s a shopper’s paradise and the list can simply be endless. Nevertheless, u’ll enjoy shopping wherever u go and don’t forget to bargain if u plan to pick-up something from the streets 🙂

    N’joy

    • that was way too cool Forum. i will be visiting Bombay soon and living close to the Manish market area so that info was particularly useful. One more question though – wud you know if I’ll get MAC, MUFE and other smaller brands like Aroma etc in the 4 bunglows, 7 bungalows, versova area? maybe even lokhandwala? I am aware of Infinity and Inorbit so that wud be my final choice but if something arnd these areas then it wud be perfect..thanks in advance

      • MAC: Any Shopper’s Stop. Other places, u can test the pdt so suggest strictlt Shopper’s
MUFE: Inorbit Mall. Inorbit has Shopper’s too so u can check both MAC and MUFE and other brands there.
Aroma Magic and other smaller brands: Beauty World in Lokhandwala Market. Nice, courteous staff. It’s at the end of the lane (if u consider Sasural and Food Inn Hotel as starting of the lane), It’s diagonally opp. to Hangout Cake Shop. The place is quite close to Manish Market, u can drive or take an auto.
Then within Lokhandwala Market there are shops like Imagine and Saheli, wherein u can get brands like VOV, Etude, etc. Just suggesting ‘coz some don’t mind using these brands while some do. I don’t wear make-up regularly so for me any brand is okay as far as it’s a l’il decent  Though, suggest u visited Beauty World and ur life’s sorted as far as many make-up products are concerned. Also in Imagine and many footwear shops, they often sell cool purses / bags at Rs 500. U can’t always be lucky in this case as some stuff isn’t that gud but no harm in checking. I usually but from Baggit and Esbeda over there but have quite a few Rs 500 purses too :beauty:
Since, u already know Infiniti and Inorbit, try Mega Mall at Oshiwara for clothes n stuff also. It has Pantaloons, AND, Chemistry, 109 Farenheit, Global Desi, Kazo, etc. In Pantaloons, on Friday, u get 5% discount and if u have their loyalty card then additional discount as per the loyalty card that u have.
And yes, do check out Aakarshak Art Gallery (in Lokhandwala). Sometimes u may happen to find some great traditional exhibitions set up there. U’ll have to try ur luck thoh as exhibitions keep changing and even some tacky stuff is displayed at times.
Lastly, if u want u can check Betty in Lokhandwala for (ahem) lingerie

    • Oh wow Pradnyaa, I didn’t know of this. Where exactly is it in Crawford Market? I know Badshah Colddrinks house and Bata so if u can guide me accordingly. And do they allow u to test MAC? Do u get MUFE over there as well? How much discount (approx.) can we get?

Sorry for so many questions but this got me excited

      • 😀 I can understand the excitement! I have been shopping there since quite a while and everytime I go I’m excited like that!! 🙂

This is very close to Badshah colddrink. Go to the inside lane where badshah is on your right side. Beauty Center is probably 2nd or 3rd shop on right. If you stand facing the lane you can even see there vertical board, and its quite famous so if you ask the hawkers near Badshah colddrinks I think you should find it. At the entrance there are people with mehendi packs and some stuff like that, so you know that’s the place to enter.

Its a pretty big shop inside, though crowded mostly. Afternoons are better.
Approximately minimum 20% discount is always there. For some brands it can be more, and they also have offers from the brands.
I haven’t checked MAC there yet, since its kept just at the billing counter, and by the time I was there I thought ‘Enough Shooping Now!’ So donno if you can test. I wanted to compare prices so I asked how much discount they had on MAC but the SA said they sell MAC for wholesale price so can’t be compared to MRP.
Donno MUFE, I’m a bit new to make up and haven’t heard of the brand so won’t know even if it was there 🙂
But yes, they do have NYX, Ben Nye, Diana Of London, Loreal, body shop, Clinique, Revlon, Bourjois, Lotus, Lakme, Shehnaz, Biotique etc. and many cheap brands too like VOV.

        I’m sure you’ll love it 🙂

          • The beauty shop in kandivali West in mumbai sells originals as well as fakes. They recently launched NYX and devoted an entire counter to the range with over 100 nail paint colours. one, those colours dont feature on the NYX website. I got the eyebrow cake after all the ranting and raving I heard bout it and well the colour of the wax differes in all products. the colur ranges from like cream to white. Three, when i inspected the products closely well, the list of ingredients has a few details placed differently from the products sold in the US and also the ones sold on cherry culture.

I cant help feeling cheated now. correct me if im wrong…
