This comes in a really cute package which instantly reminds me of strawberries :-)Â with baby lips color written on it. It is a twist up lip balm with sufficient quantity for the price . It has a really nice berry smell , though it is slightly cosmetic.
This is a tinted lip balm with a deep maroon tint which does not actually cover lip pigmentation well but gives a pretty shine to the lips, which unfortunately goes off in an hour or so even without eating. But it does leave behind a moisturizing effect for 3-4 hours, after which you have to reapply it , since this is the condition in summer months and I don’t have dry lips , I can imagine that it will not work in winter. I could easily apply it on my lips since it had a really smooth texture.
It might work well under a matte lipstick, but on its own since the color doesn’t really show it would be better to try something else. Another problem this has is that it is slightly sticky in the first 10-15 mins of application, hair keeps sticking to it and if you eat something crumbs stick to your lip.
In the swatches I have swiped 8-10 times in the above and once in the below swatch.
As you can see it imparts a nice pinkish shine to my pigmented lips and plumps them up a bit.
What I like about Maybelline Baby Lips Color Berry Crush:-
- Cute packaging
- Travel friendly
- Lovely Fragrance
- Soft texture and hydrating.
- Gives a nice shine
What I don’t like about Maybelline Baby Lips Color Berry Crush:-
- Does not live up to its claims and lasts only around an hour or two
- No protection from darkening by sun
- Does not cover pigmentation on lips well
- Slightly Sticky
Rating : 3.5/5
Will I repurchase?
I may buy the non tinted ones for summer, but for winters my Vaseline sun protect lip balm is the absolute best.
The antioxidant berry review has been posted here by Poorna, it is the one I bought first and I prefer it to this one because it keeps lips hydrated for quite a long time . Read Review here Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm Antioxidant Berry Review.
