Maybelline Color Tattoo by Eyestudio 24 Hour Eyeshadow 25 Bad to the Bronze Review
Okay, so I hauled a few days back. I am going through a sort of pre-midlife crisis, and it is affecting my purchases. It might also have something to do with the fact that Maybelline has launched so many different things and promises to add more stuff as the SA told me*happydance*.
This is the picture of the stuff I got.
Two Baby Lips balm, three color tattoo eyeshadows in Bold Gold, Pomegranate Punk and Bad to the Bronze, and a Lumitouch concealer because my Inglot one is slowly starting to get over. I was quite happy with this haul (I feel its quite justified because I had money at the end of the month and I could, so… anyway).

The product I will be reviewing today is the Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze. I was really struck by the pearly finish of this particular shadow and wanted to use it immediately. What I love is the fact that the shade is very sexy. I am a sucker, too, for funny names, and this is such an obvious take on the hit “Bad to the Bone†that even if the color did not appeal to me I would have bought it. Yes, that’s how bad I am, but its all good, because this color is definitely one of the highlights of the eyeshadow series.
Although there were not too many colors launched here, I did spy this wonderful shade and immediately had to have it. It comes in a glass jar with a sturdy plastic top and since it is a cream eyeshadow, its really easy to carry around. I like the fact that it is not too creamy, and settle on my oily lids very easily. The color is a lovely shade of smoky slightly metallic, but more pearly bronze bordering on the pink but not quite, and it can be used in different ways.

The color is pearly, and thus, can be used as a base color all over the eye, as a crease color as well on the brow bone. I have used the color all over my lids and lined with my kajal and that was about it. What   I personally love is the fact that the color stays put for over 9-10 hours (I have not had a chance to do more with it now… will do a smoked out EOTD in the near future. Anyway, this is the swatch on my hand and it is the closest I could come to capturing the color. The color does not come with a brush in general, but if you purchase it within a next few days, Maybelline is offering a free brush to go with it. I have used the brush, but I have found that blending it is easiest by hand, as you have to be really quick with it or it can clump, because it dries up a bit fast. I have also found removing it is with a good makeup remover is the best idea, as otherwise you will find tiny pearls shimmering around the creases of your eyes. The pigmentation of the color is great, and I love the sheen it gives once applied.
One crib I have is that in general you do not get an applicator with these eyeshadows. I personally feel that an applicator or brush should be provided with the eyeshadow because it just makes sense, and Maybelline has previously always provided a brush with the eyeshadows.
