My experience with Maybelline ColorShow Lipstick Coffee Break :
Packaging:Â The lipstick comes in a shiny black plastic packaging and the cap click shuts firmly. The packaging actually takes you to the days when usually all lipsticks had this black colored rectangular packaging, typical old school types.
The best feature of the packaging of this lipstick is the shiny colored band that shows the color family of the lipstick.
The color coded stickers at the bottom of the lipstick makes it easy to detect the color in your stash
Texture:Â The lipstick has a very soft, creamy and smooth texture. I love the fact that this shade does not come with any shimmer, but do not why it still looks frosty to me. I wished that it was not so frosty.
Shade: I need to mention it here that Maybelline has been very wise in giving names to these lipsticks. The name of the shade actually reflects the shade perfectly. The lipstick Coffee Break is in a shade like that of a coffee bean. The shade goes well on Indian skin tones.
Pigmentation: This shade is decently pigmented and goes opaque in a single swipe. Just a couple of swipes give you a perfect coffee pout.
My Take: So it is again a brown this time, a dark coffee brown. I have seen many ladies wearing such colors but somehow I do not happen to have liking for such dark shades, as I feel that such dark shade of browns make me look mature, that of course I do not want.
This shade is decently pigmented which is a great thing, because for such dark shades layering can easily go wrong. The texture of this lipstick is very soft and the frosty finish that it has too vanishes after an hour or so, and even earlier if you drink and have light snacks. When the frosty finish vanishes I actually feel happy about it, but when the lipstick begins to fade, I literally hate it. The lipstick fades off unevenly and leaves behind a patchy stain so make sure that you are not going for a dinner/ lunch party with this lipstick on or else you just might have to face an embarrassing makeup moment.
You can very well see in my lip swatch that how much tendency of uneven fading this particular lipstick has. I have a habit of lip smacking and there you see the result of my habit.
My above description clearly shows that this lippy in no way will survive full meals but with little snacking the lippy stays for some 3+ hours.
Overall the shade is a decent buy at this price, and most women will like it, if you have a thing for brown shades.
