My experience with Maybelline ColorShow Lipstick Violet Delight :
Packaging:Â The lipstick comes in a shiny black plastic packaging and the cap click shuts firmly. The packaging actually takes you to the days when usually all lipsticks had this black colored rectangular packaging, typical old school types.
The best feature of the packaging of this lipstick is the shiny colored band that shows the color family of the lipstick.
The color coded stickers at the bottom of the lipstick makes it easy to detect the color in your stash
Texture: The lipstick has a very soft, creamy and smooth texture. It has a glossy – creamy finish. Thankfully it is sans shimmers.
Shade: This is a purple shade with mauve undertones. I do not know how close I am in describing its shade, but for me it is deep purple with hints of mauve.
Pigmentation: This is decently pigmented and gives my lips good coverage in a single swipe. Just a couple of swipes and my lips are ready with purple splash of color.
My Take: To start with, let me first talk about the color of the lippy. I am actually in affix if I liked this color or not, but one thing is for sure that this shade is good bet for purple and mauve lovers.
I have no complaints with its texture and pigmentation, infact I am very much pleased with it. The pigmentation is very nice and do not at all ask for layering. Texture is as smooth as butter and does not dry out lips.
It stays for some easy 3-4 hours with light snacking and after which leaves tint behind.
The only issue I have with this particular lipstick is with its tendency to settle in fine lines and accentuate it. I so hate this, and infact this not very much expected with such a creamy lipstick.
What I Like About Maybelline ColorShow Lipstick Violet Delight:
- Smooth – Creamy Texture.
- Color coded stickers makes it easy to identify the color.
- Sturdy packaging.
- Decent staying power.
- Does not dry lips.
- Does not bleed.
- Nice color pay off, not more than two swipes are required for even lips.
- Total value for money.
What I Don’t Like About Maybelline ColorShow Lipstick Violet Delight:
- Settles in Fine lines.
- Accentuates fine lines even more.
Will I Recommend: This is not a common shade that everyone might love to try, but yes this makes for a great choice for purple- mauve lipstick lovers. Indian skin tones will easily pull off this shade.
