My experience with Maybelline ColorShow Lipstick Violet Fusion :

Packaging: The lipstick comes in a shiny black plastic packaging and the cap click shuts firmly. The packaging actually takes you to the days when usually all lipsticks had this black colored rectangular packaging, typical old school types.

The best feature of the packaging of this lipstick is the shiny colored band that shows the color family of the lipstick.
The color coded stickers at the bottom of the lipstick makes it easy to detect the color in your stash

Texture: The lipstick has a very soft, creamy and smooth texture. This shade has some very obvious shimmers to feel though they are not much evident on lips. The shimmers in this lipstick actually affect its texture feels a bit gritty while application.

Shade: Just like its name, it is a fusion shade, a blend of violets and pinks. The color is actually very pretty and I liked the way it played with my face. Brightened it sans makeup.

Pigmentation: The shade is decently pigmented. A single swipe gives enough coverage and double swipes give a nice finished up look.

My Take: So far I am liking this lipstick range. And to my surprise I have liked this shade as well, despite of the shimmers presence.

I am not a frosty or glossy lover and yes so far by reviewing these lippies I have noticed a thing that seems to create confusion between it finishes.
Actually irrespective of the shimmers, the creamier the texture the glossier it appears and a little less creamy texture gives a frosty look.

The shimmers that are in this lipstick are again confusing. They are a bit gritty and are felt while you apply the lipstick. You can see the picture of the lipstick tube and notice that the shimmers are not very fine, but on lips they behave very minute and almost negligible.

Apart from its texture, the lipstick is great be it pigmentation or its staying power. It stays on my lips for an easy 4 hour duration inclusive meals and after which it fades off.

What I Like About Maybelline ColorShow Lipstick Violet Fusion :

  • Decent Pigmentation.
  • Color coded stickers make it easy to identify the color.
  • Sturdy packaging.
  • Decent staying power.
  • Does not dry lips.
  • Does not bleed.
  • Total value for money.
  • Great shade for all skin tones.

What I Don’t Like About Maybelline ColorShow Lipstick Violet Fusion :

  • Shimmers feel gritty while application.
  • Shimmers tend to spread in areas around the lips.
  • Not all may like the presence of shimmers in it.

Rating: 3.5 /5

Will I Recommend: Yes for the color, but the shimmers in it does not make it a great choice for people who are bothered with shimmers.
