Here is a review of my 2 more recent finds again from maybelline! So far I never used lipsticks from this brand, but after I started reading these blogs I thought I would give it a try. And Lo And Behold! So many many shades!!??!! Like a dream come true! Lol
So I was looking for Pinks again and I found 2 more fabulous shades:

  • Price :– Rs. 299 for 4.2 gm
  • Shades – Colour sensational 245 Blushing Brunette & Colour Sensational 065 Hooked on Pink

I had checked shades on their site beforehand, and ended up buying something else altogether! So much for planning! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Colour sensational lipstick 245 Blushing Brunette & Hooked on Pink review

Colour sensational 245 Blushing Brunette

I love the names they have given to all these shades.:)This is a shade exactly between Pink and brown. Its Pink, peach, with orangish undertones. Very nice for gals with skin with peach undertones. Will definitely suit from fair to wheatish skins.ร‚ย  Its has a mild sheen to it and also very fine and very little golden shimmer.

Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs a very nice shade for everyday use, and texture is so smooth that youรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll want to use it every single day! This shade is warm and close to skin tones, so even if I just swipe this and leave the rest of the face bare, it still works and brightens up the face.

Colour Sensational 065 Hooked on Pink

True to its name, this is a lovely Pinky Pink. This too has a very slight orangish undertones, which makes it look warm. This is a plain shiny shade without any shimmer. A bit darker and more pigmented than blushing Brunette.
This should be good for fair to medium tones. In fact I feel it would look more natural on a bit darker skin. Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs a bit dark on my skin, so to balance I have to wear a kajal or something.

Swatches of Maybelline Lipstick – Hooked On Pink, Blushing Brunette

Overall both the shades are adorable. The texture is super smooth. In first swipe its like a gloss, then one has to swipe once or twice again to get a really rich colour and shine. Even then they remain a bit transparent, and I like that about these lippies. They are sheer, smooth, creamyรขโ‚ฌยฆ yeah, mildly fragrant too

The colour doesnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt last much, ร‚ย Youรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll have to reapply this after a meal. When it fades it leaves a light tint behind. Since the shades are on lighter side, its difficult to see the remaining tint on lips, but one can see it on hands where the skin is lighter. [So if you think lips are bare and no need to use a makeup remover, itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs a mistake!]You can try these on a neutral lip liner for a bit longer staying power.

The packaging is classy! Especially when you see 2/3 shades together. ร‚ย I love the different shades of the covers and the translucency

  1. So altogether Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm really happy with these lippy ๐Ÿ™‚ Staying power isnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt a big problem for me as I love to apply lipsticks again and again. I will certainly recommend these and buy few more shades myselfร‚ย  :lipstick:

    • Yeah ๐Ÿ™‚ But you know Zara, I buy these pretty shades and then wonder are they too dark on me? Especially after seeing so many nude lips around and seeing Cindy’s book.
      What do you say ana?

      • Well A will the best person to answer this..but whenever i find a shade to dark or too bright on me i either just dab a little a spread for use or i use a gloss on top to dull the blingy effect..

        wots ur complexion btw?

        • Pradnyaa…it depends all on the complexion of the person and one has to work them out that way.I have bought few blushes and lipstick as per international bloggers recommendations and they look veyr veyr different on me than on them.

          • Ana, you are right the colours look different on differnt tones.
But Ana, do you think that we use darker shades anyways? Like the firangs have lesser difference in their skin tone and lipstick as compared to our use.

            • yes we do tend to go to darker shades as it goes well with most of our dusky skin tones na. if u remember years back there were no shades other than dark brown and reds in lakme.

              • yeah also could be coz of the clothes we wear, everything so colourful ๐Ÿ™‚
If I try anything light, with less contrast with the skin, my face looks washed out.
grrrr so difficult to balance the darks and the lights!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜€

        • I’m fair. Lol that’s all i know, i donno the shade no. etc that they mention here in comments
And a lady came to office for frooming workshop, she said I have peach undertone

  1. woooooooooo……….after seeing the swatches and reading your review…i am also hooked to pink……….. :inlove: i will buy it for sure….too bad i dont have maybelline cosmetics in my area, :reallypissed: i will have to wait till i go to my aunt’s house where there are lots of cosmetic stores.

      • i am living at Bolangir,Orissa. My home town is just a town by name, when it comes to cosmetic it is like a village…… ๐Ÿ™ here you can hardly even get lakme products,if you find it in some stores you are very lucky. What i do is i order a store that i visit often if i want any Lakme item, and have to wait 10-12days… :reallypissed: If i want any thing from other brands like lotus, maybelline, etc etc, then i will have to wait till i visit my Aunt in Bhubaneswer (nearly 350km from my home),that’s the capital of Orissa. Now you can imagine my dilemma. :wallbash:

          • hi anamika.i tried many sites but some don’t deliver to our area and some others are not so secure sites to use credit card. ๐Ÿ™ And,personally after having some misfortune during online orders i gave up trying. :nono: So now on i keep a list of all the cosmetics i want to buy and email my aunt the list with every detail,so she can buy that and send me.But you know many time i got a lecture from my aunt about how i spend too much money in cosmetics… :giggle: :giggle:

  2. nice review pradhanya
    I love blushing brunette
I love it especially the texture and scent of these lippies
I have three colour sensational lippies My mahagony ( MLBB shade) crazy for toffee (very good) and Pink plaza ( which I have nt used and looks weird on me) it is just lying in my shelf unused.
am adding blushing brunette to my shopping list.
there is another shade warm me up and nearly there (both are too nude lippies which gave a washed out look ) so luckily I retunred these two lippies and got other products.

    Yes anu
I would love to buy autumn rush as well
