Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 13 Review & Swatches

Maybelline Lip Polish in Glam 13 – Hey all, Maybelline Lip polishes have received a lot of love in the blogosphere and for good reason! I bought three the other day out of which I have already reviewed Glam 9. When the SA insisted i try this one i gave her a very dirty look and told her its BROWN ! Browns and I dont get well together. However, she insisted I try and I am glad I did! Read on to know why :

My experience with Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 13:

The packaging is super stylish and looks like an inverted lipstick . The applicator is “ leaf shaped “ which picks up the right amount of colour.

The colour looks like a mousey brown in the bottle but translates into a beautiful peachy brown on the lips which makes it apt for office or day wear. The pigmentation is decent and covers all lip pigmentation in one go ! It has very minute shimmers which cant be seen and are actually visible only if you look up close.

The texture of the gloss is  slightly thick and a tad bit sticky ,but not so sticky that your hair will get stuck to it .The slight stickiness intact ,helps the gloss to stay on longer than most glosses.

The staying power is quite good for a gloss. It stays for about 3 hours on me with careful eating ,but will definitely not survive a full meal . However,no gloss survives a full meal so no complaints there 😀

  1. Nice review Shwetha 🙂 n your lips look awesome 🙂

I need some advice from you or anyone else who can help. You seem to have oily, acne prone skin, pls correct me if I am wrong.

I have oily, acne prone skin ( around NC 42 ) with active acne as well as some scarring on my cheeks n below my temples.
I want to buy a fuss free foundation, just one product , either powder or fluid. Which would you recommend, Revlon colorstay for oily/combination skin or Mac Studio Fix powder?

    • Vani I think you should try Revlon colorstay whipped foundation (24 hrs). Me too have the same skin type as yours and it is the best foundation I have ever tried. I have also used Studio Fix but there I faced two problems first staying power. On my oil factory it stays for 2-3 hourss after which I need to re-apply it. Secondly it also doesnt covers my acne scars as effectively as the Revlon one does.Hope this helps.

        • Powder works well for everyday but doesnt give full coverage- i have been using the powder since 2008 so u can imagine how much i love it! Fluid has a heavier coverage which doesnt wirk for daily use- get a concealer n powder n you shud be good to go

        • Depends really on yourrequirement- powder is great for everyday use and u can always use a comcealer to conceal scars! Fluid has heavier coverage and is definitely not suited for everyday use -on a dily basis i use the powder and for outings/ parties i use the fluid – but if u jad to pick just one- the powder! I have lost count of how many i have been thru!

  2. Very pretty every day shade..i wud have also said yuk brown to SA 😀 m so glad u tried it, now I knw which lip polish I am gonna buy..thankoo Shweta..
