Maybelline New York Expert Wear Blush

I always get attracted towards the word ‘Mocha’. Mocha always reminds me about mocaccino café 😛 I remember checking out MAC store when a lady asked MAC MUA about Mocha lipstick and immediately I grabbed one for mine too. The story repeated when Rekha, one of the owner of FB online shop and a blogger was selling MAYBELLINE NEWYORK EXPERTWEAR BLUSH- “MOCHA VELVET” and I immediately booked one for me.

My experience with Maybelline New York Expert Wear Blush Mocha Velvet 100:

I have been using this blush mainly to highlight my cheekbone, nose or just top up with matte blush to give an extra dimension with hint of glow. The Shade is no where close to actual shade called “Mocha”. It’s more of campaign shade which is appropriate for any types of highlighting even on your brow-bone 😀  I find it very travel friendly because of the packaging. Clear lid cover help to identify the shade with a black plastic body.

The texture of the blush is smooth and very soft. I generally use Real Technique core collection contour brush which not only help applying precisely and but then blend them all together as well. The softness of the blush helps blending it super fast. Do not feel chalky at all. Pigmentation is medium to buildable. I had to apply 3-4 times to capture on my cam. But for me I find it perfect for day wear as well. Very soft and subtle shade which makes it wearable both day and night. It has fine nano shimmer particles which won’t give your bang on highlighting effects but a very soft sheen on face or where ever applied.

The only drawback is the staying power- it does stay for around 2 hours but with that price what else you want 😛 Availability is also concern as I don’t see this range available anywhere yet.  🙁

What I like about Maybelline New York Expert Wear Blush Mocha Velvet 100:

  • Affordable price but then don’t know how much it will be here in India.
  • No fragrance
  • The smooth and silky texture.
  • Not powdery and blend really well.
  • Can be used both as highlighter or blush.
  • Wearable both during day and night.
  • The shimmer particles are not too harsh but very soft and subtle sheen.
  • Travel friendly packaging.

What I don’t like about Maybelline New York Expert Wear Blush Mocha Velvet 100:

  • I wish the pigmentation and staying power are little higher.
  • Availability is questionable!

Rating: 3.5/5

Get a chance I will definitely stock up more shades only because of the price and the shades. Very pocket friendly and I do highly recommend it and in case your find any do try it once 🙂
