Price: Rs. 475
Shades: 8 shades are launched in this range.
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a packaging similar to the Maybelline Lip Polish. I really liked the chic packaging. The transparent bottle holds the liquid lipstick and it has a black cap that has the applicator attached with a small wand. The packaging is attractive and travel friendly.
The Applicator: The sponge applicator works great in picking the right amount of the lipstick and allows easy application. I really like the small wand, the bigger wands do not work well with me.
Texture: It is a liquid lipstick that glides on lips smoothly. It is very light weight and is absolutely non-sticky. Maybelline claims that this is a matte lipstick with the comfort of gloss. But it is not absolute matte and still has a bit of sheen. I do not mind that sheen at all as it is not like the gloss shine, but is something that makes lips appear healthy.
Once applied it is just like glossy lip color but after a minute or so it settles to a semi matte finish.
Shade: Mat 4 a peachy pink shade. The perfect summery peach lip color I would say. This shade may wash out duskier skin tones and may also not work on face without a makeup base. If you are a fair skin toned girl, then surely the absence of makeup base would not matter much.
Pigmentation: This lip color is not very pigmented. It will not go completely opaque in couple of swipes but will cover around 90% of lip pigmentation.
My Experience with Maybelline Velvet Matte Lipstick Mat 4
As I have said in every post of the Maybelline Velvet Matte Lipsticks, this lipstick too is very light on lips and does not at all feel heavy like many other lipsticks.
This is a gorgeous peach shade and is not something that I will recommend when you have a dull face. A little face prepping and this lip color works fabulous in making a simple makeup look, look great.
This lipstick stays for 3-4 hours with mild snacking and drinks. It will definitely not survive a full meal. After fading there is no strong stain that it leaves.
Overall, this is a great lip color for fair to medium skin tones. I love the semi matte finish of this.
