By now I think I need not start with a sentence on how much I love blushes. 🙂 So instead I’m just going to jump right in.
I saw this on FnU earlier this February during one of their super sales and picked it up. I believe they have a couple of other palettes as well so after a lot of deliberation, I picked this one. I will be honest enough to admit I would’ve picked the others too had I known about the quality of the powders. But since it was my first foray into Meylon, I decided to stick to one. 🙂
Price: I’m not aware of the original price but I got it from FnU for about INR 545
This palette has really gone through a lot of wear and tear girls. I’ve carried it with me during my traveling and thanks to all the cotton and tape packaging I’ve done so many times, the lid pretty much looks a bit yucky…So sorry for the sad pic…
I love the variety of shades in this palette. Its like a one stop shop of sorts. It has pinks, mauve, browns…hence this is one of my all rounder and easy to travel palettes.
Sorry again for the sad state of my palette. Usually I always maintain my blushes very well and clean the fallout as well..and now that I think of it, I have absolutely NO idea why this palette is getting ‘Sautela’/step vaivahaar from me???? So when I realised that while taking pics, I actually took cotton, sat and cleaned the palette the best I could 🙂 🙂 Being a blush freak, I refuse to see my babies dirty! 😉 😉 Errr…I think I’ve said too much now…
The palette comes with 2 applicator brushes which are downright shameful. Even in an emergency, I’d rather use my fingers to apply and blend.
See how sad the brush is? Forget about blending, I can;t even apply the color with this!
Here are the swatches, hopefully they do justice to hues –
Swatches for Meylon 6 Blush Palette:
Top Row (L-R)
All 3 shades are well pigmented and non-chalky. The pink shade in the middle may seem a tad bit chalky in the pic, but that’s totally not the case. Infact, if used very lightly, its the perfect highlighting shade. All shades are matte and the last shade on the right does have a tiny bit of shimmer which is not OTT at all.
The last Brown toned shade can also be used for contouring but since its not too dark, it would probably work only on lighter skin tones.
Bottom Row (L-R)
The first and last shades in this row are my favorites of the entire palette. They suit most outfits and look absolutely gorgeous!
The first 2 shades have a bit of shimmer content, but again not OTT and they are hardly visible on application.
All in all this is a gr8 palette for working gals or for those who don’t want to or can’t wear shimmery blushes.
What I love about Meylon 6 Blush Palette
- A wide range of colors which are very well pigmented.
- None of the shades are chalky
- Very pocket friendly.
- Got it dirt cheap
- Staying power is good. It stays on my cheeks for about 6-7hrs.
- The colors are all matter and even the shimmers in 3 of them are not OTT and rather than make the face look shimmery, they make the face glow instead.
- Sturdy packaging and can be carried during travel.
What I dislike about Meylon 6 Palette
- Availability is an issue. I haven’t seen this anywhere other than FnU.
- Contains parabens
- Pigmentation: 4.5/5
- Packaging: 4/5
- Staying Power: 3.5/5
- Applicator: 2/5
- Availability: 3/5
I do love this palette and would love to pick up some more during the next sale…Do any of you have a palette from Meylon?
