New Year Eve 2012 : Firdaus Night at Taj Krishna

Hi Everyone,

Hope you enjoyed your New Year Eve to fullest yesterday ! New years in hyderabad are quite ‘warm’ and ‘peaceful’ when compared to Delhi/Noida. But yes, there were a lot of partying opportunities available – ranging from as low as 2k per couple to 14k for night stay at Novotel. Last year we took a rather economy-package which offered DJ and unlimited drinks+food, only to discover that the place was over-crowded, over-loud, with unlimited booze (while both of us are teetotaler) and tasteless snacks.

With this background, we thought of picking a rather polished and placid way to celebrate New year eve this time. We went to Taj Krishna – Firdaus night – which included buffet + live ghazal programme for INR 7k per couple all inclusive.

Ghazals at Taj Krishna Firdaus Night

The place had a warm glow, melodious ambience and a very ‘nawabi’ feel to it. The ghazal singers were quite liberal in their choice of songs and also accepted requests for movie songs like ‘Phoolon ka taaron ka ..’.

The true star of the evening was the dinner itself. They had assorted kababs and I was reminded of why people in hyderabad enjoy non-veg more πŸ˜› My hubby had told me about galauti kababs before and it was a delight to feel them melt effortlessly in your mouth. We were more excited to enjoy them than take their pictures, and only got time to click once they were finished πŸ™‚

Main course again, was a treat to enjoy and with those breaks filled with ghazals and music, I actually ended up over stuffing myself. Here’s a pic of the desserts.

I’ve been recently watching Master Chef US and am sure that chef Ramsey would’ve given full marks to the presentation and treatment πŸ™‚ Food indeed is something where you take a simple 50-100 Rs. stuff and process it to make it worth 500 so beautifully.

At last, here’s me – the pic is slightly hazy (thanks to my husband :D)
