One Hand Washes The Other (OHTWO)Â is an online bath, body and perfume company that sells some unique and interesting products. And when I discovered them, the first product that caught my eye was the solid perfume in a tube. The idea just seems so convenient, right? Carrying around perfume like a lipgloss would be convenient for both travel and reapplication!
I bought two perfumes – Pasticceria which is a foody scent and Raspberry Gingerale which is a fruity scent. The cost $5.50 each (plus shipping) for a 0.15oz. oval tube. They both contain sweet almond oil, grape seed oil, candelilla wax, coconut oil, vitamin e, fragrance.
Here’s my review of both the fragrances:
1. Raspberry gingerale –
According to the OHWTO website, this fragrance can be described as “ripe red raspberries floating up and down in a pitcher of freshly-poured gingerale, thanks to help from millions of fizzy pinprick bubbles. A touch of blackcurrant adds a syrupy sweetness to the blend without weighing it down. A bright and lively scent!” I absolutely adore it – it’s fruity without being too sweet and without smelling too much like ginger. It’s the perfect summer perfume and one that really lifts my spirits!
2. Pasticceria –
`According to the OHWTO website, this fragrance can be described as “an Italian pastry shop, the pasticceria has all the best dessert smells in the world. Marzipan, hazelnut, almonds, vanilla, cakes, assorted pastries, frosting, and of course, pure sugar.” This is totally my favourite fragrance of the two – it is warm and foody and comforting and absolutely perfect! Unlike Raspberry Gingerale, I like using this one in winter – it just cheers me up when the weather is gloomy and freezing and goes perfectly with cosy sweaters and lots of layers!
I’ve had both these perfumes for over a year now and I’ve used them quite often, since I love the fragrances and they are super convenient. There are a lot of things that I love about the OHWTO solid perfumes – they are inexpensive, long lasting, convenient and 100% mess and spill free. I travel with them all the time! They are also hygienic because I just have to apply the perfume straight from the tube, unlike some solid perfumes that come in a little tub/jar. Not to mention the simple and skin friendly ingredients list – perfect for those with sensitive skin. OHWTO offers a wide variety of scents and inexpensive samples at $2.50 each so I’m looking forward to trying more!
The only con for me is the shipping price from the US to France. The US postal system recently hiked up its shipping rates and that would make these perfumes a little expensive. Sigh! I do like them a lot though, so if I ever run out of these, I probably would repurchase despite the shipping costs. Oh and there is another problem I can think of, although I’m probably the only one stupid enough to experience it – these tubes look and feel like a lip balm tubes so when I pull them out of my purse, I have to be careful to check to make sure I have perfume in my hand, not lip balm!
Have you ladies ever tried a solid perfume? Would you ever try the OHWTO solid perfume? Do let me know in the comments!
