So in this article I’ll tell you about a few of the popular recipes.

Now who doesn’t want to have nice smelling rooms. So here are a few essential oil recipes to your rescue. You can use a cold air diffuser for the purpose.

If you are looking for a blend that makes you wake up and gets you into a alert mode then try mixing 2 drops of Wild Orange with 2 drops of Peppermint essential oil.

For a fresh clean welcoming fragrance mix 2 drops of Lavender+ 2 drops of Lemon + 2 drops of Rosemary.

Do you have animals in the house and some guests have complained about smelly rooms, or even if they haven’t you can read the expressions? Try mixing 2 drops Lemon + 1 drop Melaleuca + 1 drop Lime + 1 drop White Fir + 1 drop of Cilantro.

For citrus lovers like myself a blend of 1 drop Lemon + 1 drop Lime + 1 drop Wild Orange + 1 drop Grapefruit + 1 drop Bergamot smells like heaven.

Had a real hard day a work and need some relaxation or rather need a good sleep, try diffusing a blend of 1 drop Bergamot + 1 drop Lavender + 1 drop Patchouli + 1 drop Ylang Ylang in your bedroom before you go to sleep.

With change in seasons it is likely to have people coughing and sneezing in the house, for the purpose you can try diffusing a mix of 1 drop Lemon + 1 drop Lime + 1 drop Peppermint + 1 drop Rosemary+ 1 drop Eucalyptus

For physical well-being

Well essential oils can be used for n-number of purposes of physical well being. It can be used as a massage oil, to relieve stress, for menstrual cramps, for joint or arthritis pains or even to treat minor cuts and bruises.

Use one fl. ounce of carrier oil such as sweet almond or any other herbal oil which you wish to and mix 10-12 drops of the appropriate essential oil.

De stress blend: 2 drops of Clary Sage+2 drops of Lemon+3 drops of Lavender

Rigid/ Sore Muscle blend: 2 drops of Ginger+ 4 drops of Peppermint+ 5 drops of Eucalyptus

Menstrual Cramp Reliever

All of us know that menstrual cramps can get really bothersome especially when it clashes with our daily activities. A simple recipe of a few essential oils if blended in and massaged on can give you some relief. Mix 1fl ounce of Jojoba oil (carrier oil) with 5 drops of Peppermint oil + 4 drops Cypress oil + 3 drops of Lavender oil and gently massage a very small amount of this oil on to the abdomine.

Balm for Cuts and Bruises

In case of minor cuts and bruises you can use essential oils mixed with bee wax and carrier oils to treat the area. This can act an alternative for antibiotic cremes. Try mixing 3 fl. ounces of any carries oil of your choice like Sweet Almond, or Calendula with melted bee wax (1 ounce) with 40 drops of Tea Tree oil and 40 drops of Lavender oil. Pour the entire mixture into a tight mouthed jar. When treatng cuts and bruises first clean the area well, then apply a small amount of this mix on to the bruise and bandage it up.

Arthirtis and joint pains

For joint pains relief, mix in 2 fl. ounces of carrier oil with 20 drops of Roman Chamomile +4 drops of Black Pepper. You can massage the effected areas with small amount of this oil for relief. Make sure you store the oil in a dark glassed jar or bottle.

A few drops of our essential oils added to our everyday skin care products can really take it to a different level. Different oils are known to serve different purposes of beauty treatment. Let us look at a few recipes you can whip up at home.

Bath oil


Well you pour in some oil directly into the bathing water but since they do not mix in with water properly, bath oils are a better option.

Mix in 2 fl. ounces of carrier oil with 20-15 drops of Lavender oil or Rosemary or any other oil of your choice. Pour this into a ark glassed bottle and shake well. Do not use up the entire oil mix in bath. Just use 1/4 of the mix.

Hair Conditioner

A tablespoon of Jojoba oils Mixed in with 2-3 drops of Rosemary oils can serve as an excellent hair conditioner. This recipe n particular s really effective for dry hair. Just wet your hair with warm water and then massage in the mix on to the hair. Let it sit for sometime and then wash it off with water.

Yes dears! Essential oils can also be used to treat annoying zits and pimple. Mix 1 fl. ounce of carrier oil with 6 drops of Lavender 5 drops of Tea Tree and 1 drop of Geranium oil. You can pour this into a rubber dropper mouthed bottle, gently roll the bottle so that the oils inside mixes in well and then apply only tiny drops of it on your skin. Avoid areas around your eyes, lips and nostrils.
