Hey all beauty geeks!!! While exploring makeup, I was a little late to understand the importance of great tools for a flawless look. My initial effort was to get the products and then, to understand the technique. But, somehow, I overlooked the absolute need for having right brushes for makeup. It is only now, that I have started spending on brushes for specific purposes, rather than having one brush to do it all. 😉 Real Techniques Setting Brush is a recent purchase in that direction and have changed the way certain products look on me. Read further to know more about the brush. 🙂

My take on Real Techniques Setting Brush:
Real Techniques Setting Brush is a new addition to my ‘ever-growing’ collection of makeup brushes from Real Techniques. The brush is a part of the ‘perfect finish’ category and thus, has a pinkish purple colored handle to show the distinction. The Real Techniques Setting Brush is marketed as a brush to set your makeup with powder and for applying highlighters. This brush has a perfect shape and size to fit your under-eye contours and thus, is widely used to blend and set the under-eye concealer. It is also advised to use for setting the makeup on your T-zone.
For me, the sole purpose of picking up this brush was to apply highlighters. I love using highlighters, but without a proper brush to do the same, I never got the look I wanted. With shimmery highlighters, you need to be precise with the application. Heavy application can turn you into a ‘shiny blingy thing’ 😉 and little application will fail the purpose of using a highlighter. This brush makes the application and the blending of a highlighter a real cake walk. Any highlighter looks beautiful with this brush and I seem to get a perfect ‘lit from within’ glow. 🙂
Performance: Real Techniques Setting Brush is made of synthetic taklon bristles which are extremely soft and fluffy. These bristles have the perfect density to blend the powder or the highlighter to create a HD finish. These bristles are hand-cut to get the tapered shape to fit the small contours of the face. This helps in getting the perfect finish on the face.
Packaging: The brush has a pinkish-purple aluminum handle and belongs to the ‘finish’ category of the brushes. The handle is very light weight and carries the name of the brush. As with all Real Techniques’ brushes, the tip of the bristles are white. Unlike some of the brushes, this brush cannot stand on its own.
Durability: The brush is sturdy and is very durable. I have not experienced any shedding of the bristles after washing it.
What I love about Real Techniques Setting Brush:
- Perfect for applying and blending highlighters.
- Works well with both cream and liquid products.
- Very soft bristles.
- Cute packaging.
- Hand-cut bristles.
- Picks up the right amount of product.
- No shedding.
- Light weight.
- Easy to handle.
- Cruelty free.
What I do not love about Real Techniques Setting Brush:
- Unavailability in India.
There is absolutely nothing that I do not like about this brush. I can finally get the perfect glow, without worrying about the blending. For all contouring and highlighting fans, this is a must buy. I am planning to buy another brush to blend and set my under-eye concealer as well. Yup, I am totally smitten by this brush. Highly Recommended 🙂
