Today I am here with another review of a Revlon ColorStay shadowlink mono. It is called “Taupeâ€. I was excited about this shade because the color taupe is the second most used eye shadow by me after black. Love doing smoky eyes using this shade. Moreover, I have heard good things from a fellow blogger about this particular shade from Revlon, and hence the added excitement.
So, lets jump straight into the review.
My experience with Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks Eyeshadow Taupe:
Shade:- A brownish grey colored shadow with fine silver shimmers that you can barely see on eyes. A perfect shade for neutral eyes and would look good when complemented with other shades for that heavily done smoky eyes. I usually like to wear it by itself all over the lids and blends out the color with a complementing shade.
Texture:- This shadow has a satin finish which means it has a slight sheen to it. The shimmers are non-chalky and the texture is smooth.
Pigmentation:- I heard that Revlon Shadowlinks “Taupe†has good color payoff. But I am sorry to say it doesn’t really show up on my lids. It gives a very sheer wash of color and doesn’t really help when you try to build.
Staying Power:- As soon as I apply them on lids it just fades away within minutes. When you try to blend it vanishes like bhoooshh. It stayed for 2 hours on me. I was amazed how quickly it just vanished from my lids, even with a good primer beneath.
Summing up my “LIKES†and “DISLIKESâ€:-
What I like about Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks Eyeshadow Taupe:
- Pretty, versatile shade.
- Satiny texture.
- Smooth and soft.
- No fallouts.
- No creasing.
- Blends easily.
- Easily available.
- Cute packaging.
What I don’t like about Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks Eyeshadow Taupe:
- Poor Pigmentation.
- Poor Staying power.
- The pigments just vanish when you try to blend.
Final Thoughts:- Taupe is a beautiful and versatile shade that goes with subtle morning looks and gorgeous night looks as well. The texture is nice, but pigmentation and staying power are not too impressive. But as I said in my earlier reviews of Shadowlinks, the pan may look small, but it would last long. And at such a rate I guess this is the best one can get in India. It’s best for beginners or those who want to try out colors without spending a lot. Just mix and match your favorite shades to create your own customized pallet by snapping them together.
