I’m a matte lover. I love to hoard as many matte lippies as I can but there is also one more finish that I really like and it is the velvety ones. These work exactly like the creamy matte lipsticks and find both very similar. Though I love mattes, one cannot deny that it can be drying and sometimes a torture for someone suffering from chapped lips, but these velvety lippies skips the dryness part and offers soft smooth lips with no glossiness.
On today’s post, I’ll be reviewing my first ever-orangey red lipstick and it is the Revlon Velvet Touch in the shade 105 Spice Red.

My take on Revlon Velvet Touch Lipstick 105 Spicy Red:
The velvet touch lipstick comes packed in a plastic red case with a golden tube inside which holds the lipstick and a golden band with the Revlon logo printed on it. The packaging is not that great but what I liked about it was the peekaboo top making it easy to identify the shade.
All right! Talking about the shade, 105 Spicy red is a bright tomato red lippy with lots of orange tint to it. I love wearing this mostly during spring times. This color instantly brightens up the face and would suit all kinds of skin tones from fair to dusky skinned lovelies. It has a velvet finish with a touch of matte.
The consistency of this lipstick is very creamy and moisturizing for dry lips. I have not used any lip balm underneath on the lip swatch but still find it super comfortable and there is no tugging at all. It feels lightweight. There is no sign of bleeding because of the texture so a lip liner is not required unless you want to apply.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is just awesome. On the hand swatch below, you can see such good pigmentation offered by a single swipe.
Staying power: Though it has a velvety texture, it still is a matte lippy so it tends to last longer than creamy ones. A little transfer is seen but that is not an issue for me. It last 3-4 hours on me.
What I like about Revlon Velvet Touch Lipstick 105 Spicy Red:
- Bright color
- Velvety matte
- No bleeding
- No tugging
What I don’t like about Revlon Velvet Touch Lipstick105 Spicy Red:
- Lasting power could have been better
