My Experience with So Susan Light Diffuser– Cocoa Dust
Packaging: The So Susan Light Diffuser comes in a tiny round compact pack. The pack contains the bronzer and the illuminator into two halves, and also has a compact mirror inside. Though the duo is packed in a tiny, compact packaging, it is still not travel friendly as the lid does not shuts tight.
I guess the lid trouble is only a co-incidence.
Texture: Both the illuminator and the bronzer are in finely milled pressed powder form. The texture is very soft and easily blend able. The bronzer is completely matte and the illuminator is full of golden shimmers. The shimmers have a tendency of spreading, which is why in the swatches you can see few shimmer bits on the bronzer as well!
Shade & Color Pay Off: The shade of bronzer is quite similar to a cocoa shade, but it is not very intense and it went really well with my skin tone. It is decently pigmented and can be layered for an intense contour.
The illuminator is a golden colored highlighter and also has very fine golden shimmers. Very little of this takes you a long way, and you need to be cautious while using it, or else you can easily go overboard with it.
Staying Power & Tips: The duo is not very long lasting, however when compared, the bronzer out of the two has a better staying power. The illuminator barely stays for two hours and can actually vanish with little extra blending. The shimmers are not going anywhere and can spread. The bronzer stays easily for four hours. With a primer the duo will surely last longer.
I really like how the duo can be used together and separately, depending upon the need. The illuminator did not impress me much, but I really adore the bronzer. Being a newbie with contouring, I did not try an intense contoured look but I actually look forward to using the contouring thing more often.
