6 Beauty Benefits Of Mango

Helloooo everyone! I am back after a much needed holiday. I went to Europe and it was ah-mazing. But I missed my WiseShe family a lot. So I am back this time with everyone’s favourite fruit. I know how much all of you love mangoes, and these little goodies of happiness are still available in market so I thought we should make the most of them because they aren’t only yummy but great for your beauty as well. Let’s have a look on these benefits of mangoes.

  • Mangoes are rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants so they are really good for you to get a glowing and healthy complexion. Rubbing mango pulp on your skin mixed with a bit of milk cream can reduce your tanning if used regularly. I would not advice eating mangoes regularly because it can make your face full of acne and you obviously don’t want that :P. So keep an eye on your mango consumption.
  • While over consumption of mangoes can give you lot of acne, applying raw mango juice works as an astringent on the existing acne. What you need to do is just boil some raw mangoes and strain the liquid. Let it cool and then use it for your skin.
  • You can prepare a home-made face wash by mixing one teaspoon each of mango pulp and powdered almond. Add a tablespoon of milk to this mix and grind it into a paste. This face wash can be applied on all skin types and wash after 20 minutes. As the process takes time you can use it once or twice in a week when you have time to devote to your skin.
  • Mango can be a great hair conditioner as well. You can make your own mango yoghurt as a hair conditioner. Hmm yumm 😛 Say hello to shiny frizz free hair after you apply mango pulp mixed with yoghurt in the ratio of 2:1. I have tried this hair conditioner and this really adds shine to my brittle and limp hair. Because both yoghurt and mango are really moisturizing. You can double this up as a face mask as well. 😀
  • You can use mango for exfoliating purpose also. For smooth glowing skin, whip your mango pulp and ground oatmeal together to make an excellent exfoliating face mask. Take 1 tablespoon of mango pulp and 2 teaspoons of ground oatmeal. This home-made scrub will exfoliate your skin and make it dead cell free with improving blood circulation as well. J just wear an old T-shirt before doing all this 😛
  • Mango seed oil is an excellent source of fatty acids and minerals. The seed kernel itself has great moisturizing properties. You can prepare an oil by removing the outer coat of the mango seed and adding them to a jar of coconut, sesame or mustard oil and place this jar in the sunlight for a few days. Using this concoction regularly will make your hair long, black and thick and prevent hair loss. Though I don’t want my hair to be black, but my grandma uses this to keep her hair black.

So don’t eat all those mangoes :-P, use them for your skin as well till they are available in the market. Right now I see the veggie markets flooded with a hell lot of varieties but I don’t eat them much (*sob*) just one piece from every mango used for preparing beauty things :-D.

That’s it for today, I hope you shine after using these tips 🙂
