Stop Thinking Too Much!
Its alright not to know the answers sometimes. They will come to you when you least expect it!
Taking a break from the usual, today I will be talking about something different! We all struggle with this on daily basis & try to fight it as much as we can. Yes! I am talking about the habit of Overthinking! I am sure you would agree with me when I say that overthinking does not do any good! Whether is a simple message from your boyfriend or a tiff with a co-worker or even a latest Facebook post, we tend to break down a simple into a much more complicated one & start over-analyzing! This leads to negative thoughts & lots of frustration.
What Is Overthinking?
What did she mean when she asked me if I am doing well, Nobody liked my profile picture, so I think I should take it down, We need to talk!!! We all have been there, right? But some of us tend to stretch it far beyond a point & stress ourselves out unnecessarily. This leads to a spiral of negative thought patterns & before we know it, we are stuck & struggling to get out!
This is why it is important to stop analyzing the past & start planning our future. Things do not have to be complicated at all times. If you feel you are right, then stand strong, if you know you made a mistake, apologize & if you have questions, then simply ask! There is no point in thinking & thinking all night long about silly things which don’t even matter in the real sense & ruin your day.
Rather, one should learn to prioritize. Focus on the things that actually matter! Remember you deserve to be happy! Do not become a victim of your own mind. Control your thoughts & embrace peace.
Am I The Only One Who Thinks Too Much?
No! Not at all! A lot of people tend to overthink! In fact, I feel that to a certain extent, it is the basic human nature to keep on pondering over things & over analyze.
How To Deal With Overthinking?
Take a moment & breathe! If you constantly keep on thinking & thinking, you are bound to get frustrated. It is important to break the pattern & relax. Breathing calms you down & connects you to the present moment. The inflow of Oxygen will make you feel at peace & give you a clear perspective about things.
Do Not Drag It!
While some people keep on wondering in their heads, there are others who like to talk about it. Although it is good to talk about things & share your feeling with someone, but you should not drag it beyond a certain point. Going over the same stuff again & again is not going to change anything. In fact, it might even make things worse & make you feel even more upset.
However, if you still need to vent, then take a piece of paper & write down your thoughts! This will helps you express yourself & make you feel a lot better.
We usually get stuck in a particular thought & keep on dissecting it! Instead, think about the larger picture & put things into a wider perspective. Will this matter 5 years down the road? Is it really worth my time? If the answer is no, then try to focus your time and energy on something that actually does matter & will help you grow.
Accept the fact that you cannot control everything. Nobody is perfect & making mistakes is only human. Rather than clinging on to the same old story, use it as a lesson to learn from & then just move on!
Make a choice & then stick to it! Trust your instinct & move forward. Stop rationalizing every little thing. Also, you do not need to justify or explain your stand to anyone. Once you know you are moving in the right direction, keep walking & don’t look back!
Get Into Action! Be more proactive & get into action
Set your goals & work towards achieving them. Set deadlines, make a to-do list & get moving! Rather than procrastinating, take small steps & try to excel in whatever you do.
Surround Yourself With Positive People
The company in which you spend most of your time also plays a crucial role in building your thought process. This is why it is extremely important to surround yourself with positive thinkers. Get to know people who actually appreciate you & encourage you. Stay away from over thinkers & those who focus more on your flaws rather than your good qualities. Trust me, you will notice the difference this makes & you would feel happier & more confident with each passing day.
