Sue Devitt Triple C-Weed Loose Powder Review

Hi All,

I have an oily T-zone and the oiliness only intensifies in summers. So it’s imperative that I use a good finishing powder or a compact with lasting effects. I picked this up from Ebay (as usual) on one of my browsing sprees and got this on a Buy 1 Get 1 offer. I’ve used it through the summer and have enjoyed using it and thought this is the right time to review it for you.

My experience with Sue Devitt Triple C-Weed Loose Powder :

  • Packaging – As visible, the powder is packaged in a thick frosted glass container  in a green boxing. The silver lid is a screw top types and the container comes with a sifter partition which comes sealed as well. This also comes with a tiny white puff which is frankly a tad bit too small to use for anything other than powdering the nose maybe… The packaging is pretty safe and sturdy; I’ve dropped it a couple of times (clumsy me!) but still it doesn’t even have a single crack or shatter marks to show for it.

Texture – The powder is very light and soft. Not even a bit coarse, this powder is pretty velvety to the touch

  • Fragrance – I didn’t find any noticeable fragrance for this powder which is a plus point for those who cant tolerate strong scents like me! 🙂 🙂
  • Cost & Availability – It is pretty pricey for sure but one can get it very cheap on Ebay at times. I got both the packs for about 890 bucks approx. not bad right? Also they have a plethora of shades. This does get confusing if you need to swatch or are unaware of the shade. In my case I always up the middle/ medium shade.

Usage –

I use this as a finishing powder after applying sunscreen, foundation/ TM and concealor. Initially when I swatched the powder I thought it would be too light and may not be the right option to blot out the oiliness. But the first use itself changed my mind. A single brush over the face with this powder solves your oiliness problem.

I use a powder brush for this since I find the tiny white puff which comes with this a bit too ridiculous to use. I wouldn’t even use it in an emergency since the puff collects too much powder makes me look pasty white …weird!

After blending it doesn’t leave any  sign of shine and oiliness has just vanished after brushing on the powder 🙂

What I liked about Sue Devitt C Weed Loose Powder

  • Sturdy packaging. I love the fact that the sifter is relatively tight and there’s no chance of it sliding out even when the pot falls.
  • This is a huge bonus for klutzy gals like me.
  • No noticeable fragrance
  • You need a very tiny bit for a single use
  • Blots out the oil quickly and efficiently.
  • One pot will last a long long time.

What I do not like about Sue Devitt C Weed Loose Powder

  • The holes in the sifter top are a tad bit too large and I always end up getting more product than necessary.
  • Contains Parabens
  • The puff which comes along with it is totally useless
  • Availability is a huge issue. One can only get this thru relative or via online shopping.

Will I buy it again: Naa…but it’s not because I don’t like it. Its just coz I’d like to try out the other brands as well 🙂
