Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick in Scarlett O’ Hara Review & Dupe Alert
Hello Gorgeous Ladies,
Sugar Cosmetics has become one of the most well raved affordable brands available in India now. I think in India it is pretty hard to find any brand which offers high quality makeup products at affordable prices.
Every other month, they launch new products along with several offers and reward point system. I am a big fan of their makeup line. Their matte as hell crayon lipstick range has 11 shades, I have got 9 shades for myself in their build my own box collection. Out of 9, I gifted one to my sister so I would not be able to review the shade Cherry blossom for you guys. Rest all shades I will swatch and review for you in upcoming posts.
Today I am going to review the shade Scarlett O Hara which is the bestselling shading from this matte as hell crayon lipstick range. Do check out my review and pictures of this particular shade. Hope you find it useful and go for this range.

My Overall Experience:
Packaging: Sugar cosmetics matte as hell crayon lipstick comes in a funky packaging, I like its outer carton, it is colourful and attractive. Lipstick comes in a crayon form which needs to sharpened, it has however a soft greyish black plastic base which I prefer as opposed to wooden base which is difficult to sharpen. There is wastage of product with sharpening. I would have preferred retractable lip crayons but still it is manageable. Base of the crayon lipstick has a red cap which is color coded, very useful to identify the shades without opening the cap every time. A sharpener has been provided with it. It is travel friendly, however I find few shades from this range have a tendency to break easily. In many shades, cap does not shut snugly and remains loose, especially I found this problem with the newly launched shades.
Shadewise: Scarlet O’ Hara is a rich blue based vibrant red shade which immediately perks up any dull complexion. This is a stunning red which will look flattering on all skin tones equally. If I have to suggest any one shade from this range, I will go for this shade. You can pair up this shade with a champagne gold eye shadow and winged liner, this is my favourite look to pair up with this lipstick shade. Keep your makeup minimal and the lips do the talking. :p
Pigmentation: This lipstick crayon is intensely pigmented. When I swatched it for the first time on my hands and lips, I was literally blown up by its rich pigmentation. You can easily achieve opaque coverage with 1 to 2 swipes. I need one swipe to cover my pigmented lips.
Texture and Finish: It has such superb soft velvety texture. It glides on my lips without tugging. It is feather light and you won’t feel anything on your lips at all. It settles into velvety matte finish. It does not accentuate fine lines or flakiness. It remains comfortable throughout the whole period I wear it. It does not dry out my lips after a long tiring day. It is due to its texture and feel, I ended up buying so many shades from this range.
Longevity: It stays on my lips easily for 5 to 6 hours. It leaves deep red fuchsia stains behind. Though it is not transfer proof, it survives light meals. With heavy meals, I saw the shade had faded unevenly. It needs to be removed with biphasic or oil based makeup remover.
Availability: Available at the website of Sugar Cosmetics, Nykaa. You won’t find these products of Sugar Cosmetics brand at stores anywhere in India, few beauty stores however keep few nail paints in stock.
