Guys if you didn’t like this picture of the recipe then just trust me.This recipe taste way to delicious than what it looks like in this picture..This is quick to make and this one is one of the best sweet corn recipe I have ever tried.
Initially I wasn’t sure how this recipe will turn out so I used one corn cob to make it but now when I have made it like 4-5 times I get 2-3 corn cobs.This recipe is from Meridula cook book who has awesome cooking recipe in her books.
This is how it goes.
Method and Preparation-15-20 minutes.
Salt to taste
Oil to fry and 2tsp oil for the gravy
Step1-Cut corn cobs into large pieces.This is actually little difficult .You need real sharp knives to do it.What I did is made some mark on the corn cobs and then broke them with my hand.Those corns who I was not able to break I took out the corn from the cob and added in my onion paste.
Step2-Heat oil in a pan and fry the corn till they get golden in color.Please be carefull while frying as the oil splash when it fry the corn.It will take like 3-4 minutes to fry them.
Step2-Now we will make onion sauce. For this grind 2 onion , green chillies, garlic and ginger into a thick paste.After grinding add turmeric powder, jeera powder, red chilli powder, salt , sugar and curry leaves in it.These are not fresh curry leaves guy .They are in fact 10 days old.To know how to store curry leaves for long click here.
Step3– Heat 2 tsp. of oil in another pan and add the onion sauce and saute it for 6-7 minutes.Now add half cup curd in it(Don’t directly add the curd beat the curd in equal amount of water and then add it into the gravy)Keep mixing the curd for 3-4 minutes otherwise it may curdled up.Now add salt in the thick gravy and add the corns.let the corn soak the gravy for 2-3 minutes.
Corns in rich creamy sauce is ready to be served.You can have it with rice, paratha or chapati.Also, you got to take the corn cob into your hand and eat it like chicken leg(sorry vegetarians but this how the best I could think of explaining it).I have it without any rice or paratha some time in evening when I am hungry.Its quiet a full filling meal..
